Pet Passport

Hi

Just wondering if someone has any advise. I did post something sometime ago about this topic.

We are UK residents with a holiday apartment in Beatenberg. We are looking to get Swiss Pet Passports for our dogs. Thought we had all this arranged in advance with our Vet in Interlaken but we were advised today that they would need to be registered with Amicus after they originally said they wouldn't.

We don't mind having them registered and paying the local dog tax but when we spoke to the local gemeinde they said we could not register them. Not quite sure the woman understood what we were after really.

Has anyone managed to do this or have any advice?

In the last post someone advised trying a vet in calais but that is probably not feasible ke for us in the long run.

Re: Pet Passport

Hello,

normally customs are only asking for the International Pet passport and some specific vaccinations (Rabie) --> https://www.blv.admin.ch/blv/en/home...frettchen.html.

This is also a good reference https://www.blv.admin.ch/blv/en/home...tchen.html#par.

No mention of Amicus or other local system.

I hope it helps...

Re: Pet Passport

To register them in Amicus, you would have to import them to Switzerland. To import dogs you would have to be living here with residents permits. Donít think you are going to be able to do this.

Re: Pet Passport

"New dog holders (who have never had a dogs registered in ANIS [predecessor to Amicus]) will have to be registered with the [office of] control of inhabitants of their commune of residence. In concrete terms, this means that their personal data will be introduced in Amicus under the 'Data of Persons' field by administrative staff.

"Once the recording is done, the new holder goes with his dog at his veterinarian practitioners. The confirmation of registration of the data holder's data should be presented by it to the veterinarian practitioner so that the latter can identify the dog and save it in the Amicus database on the corresponding holder's data mask."

Re: Pet Passport

If they're a UK resident then surely they just count as a tourist and would follow the rules here:

https://www.blv.admin.ch/blv/en/home...frettchen.html

Or is the point that they want something more permanent to avoid that hassle each time?
