Cats and dogs may be lovely and cuddly and look helpless but a cargo plane full of animals is a cargo plane that could have been filled with genuine people, men, women and children, who desperately need to get out to stay alive with the Taliban going to probably slay people who helped the westerners during the last 20 years. | | | | | Then why are cars being flown out of Afghanistan in cargo planes? https://www.independent.co.uk/asia/s...-b1907777.html |

Says everything about the West's moral decline when people are more worried about stray cats and dogs getting out of Kabul when people are being blown up and children being shot at in the scramble to get out | This user would like to thank TonyClifton for this useful post: | |

| | Re: Kabul Small Animal Rescue | Quote: | | | | Mr Farthing’s flight left without charity staff who were prevented from entering the military-controlled area at Kabul airport, despite having been granted visas for the UK.
They had helped to bring the pets to the airport in two cattle trucks. Mr Farthing said armed Taliban militants stopped the Afghan staff from crossing into the British-controlled zone where they could board the privately chartered flight to the UK.
Speaking about his staff members, Mr Farthing, whose real name is Paul, said: ‘It is just so depressing that I had to leave them behind. Some of them came with me to the airport but they weren’t allowed to cross the line from Taliban to British control. ‘I feel so many things. I feel very sad for them, I’m relieved for me and I feel happy for the animals. There were lots of tears when we said goodbye.’ | | | | | Sometimes I wish dark jokes were only dark jokes and not reverberations from the real world.
This event has the vibes of that 1990s photojournalist that committed suicide after the photo of a vulture chasing a starving girl was published in the NYT.
