We feed our dog on "Orijen" and we have not ever had problems with gas unless she chews on something weird she found on the grouns (such as chestnuts...yikes).

Maybe you want to try "Orijen"? I did loads of research and Orijen was the only commercial brand that passed the "tests" when not having harmful components.

Check http://www.dogfoodproject.com/ and see what it says!

Cheers!
Are you getting the Orijen in Switzerland? I'm currently feeding our lab/rottie the fish food (with no grains) but I order it from Germany.

As for Lulu - you may want to look into a better quality food. Visit www.dogfoodanalysis.com for independant reviews on dog food, they rate your food a 2 star and do not recommend it (see here). I've done plenty of searching for 6 star dog foods, they are few and far in between but I have had some luck. If you want the sources PM me.

Stinky dogs are no fun, our hound can clear a room when she gets into something she shouldn't eat. One night she dutch-ovened our bedroom and I swear I was seeing things from the fumes.

Re: Lulu has GAS!!!

Unfortunately, Nutro was the best around when I got the older dog in '06 (she is not gassy ); it looks as if the situation has changed (I picked it because I could buy it in Switzerland and it has no corn).

Lulu came from the breeders with food that goes for 40chf for 2kgs! But since that made the other dog sick (and Lulu was passing wind anyway), I switched Lulu.

Pm is on the way, and thanx for all the help.

(I really am a bad Chi-Mom, go ahead and report me Flow23)

LOL i used the two websites, the dog food project and the dog food analysis and i crossed referenced them to see what was best...lol...

I order Orijen from www.editrust.ch (under "champion petfoods"). I havent had the time to check which petshop carries it.

Good luck with lulu!

Re: Lulu has GAS!!!

I get Solid Gold food from www.solidgoldswiss.ch . We fed our Lab this in CA, and I was surprised to find it here. One of the better foods out there, but there are so many.

And our girl gets 'gassy' occasionally, from treats. That's my story and I am sticking to it!

Thanks so much for posting this website! I was actually giving my dog a 3-star reviewed, and not recommended, food. I was horrified because I realize I just trusted the opinion of the people at QUALIPET about what was the BEST food, regardless of price, etc.

Ummm...why did I not look this up before, when I research everything else online, especially for my little monster?

Anyway, thanks for the note. I immediately went out and got 2 bags of Orijen Puppy food. I need to give my puppy the best!!! I also got some natural treats of dried beef at http://www.editrust.ch . They let me pick it up as I wanted it right away, but they will deliver orders over 50CHF free via DHL.

I will only buy food and treats from EDITRUST from now on.

Thanks from a more informed dog mommy!

Re: Lulu has GAS!!!

Sorry, did not have time to read the other answers. To avoid gas it really helps if you avoid mixing wet (leftovers...) and dry food. So if she gets a snack from the table (and very little is still quite some thing if you look at her size) make sure she has two hours to digest before she gets kibble

Re: Lulu has GAS!!!

CSI analysis: Lulu exploded over two years ago after getting too near to a Christmas candle and bits are still floating around the inner stratosphere.

Nothing to see here folks, move along now....

Nope, from Germany. Try Amazon or www.heimtierzentrum.de
