Wow, he really is stunning, and has great form and presence. Have you got any photos of Fareed?
He's actually been very difficult to photograph. Not only is he more shy and not such a show off, but being very dark he tends to be all shadow. This one isn't too bad though...

And Lady B would need a good few hours as well, based my experiences with uncooperative (no, let's just say bloody minded) animals.

Great website- one spelling mistake? What a idyllicl life you have. I can't stop looking at Rheemah, she seems like she was constructed from a Bedouin dream. Hopefully someone will do some paintings of her.

Anytime Begga! In fact a couple of friends are coming up this Saturday to help with de-poopng the paddock and grooming the horses. It would be a perfect time to photograph them, and the weather forecast is good too.

Re: Tired, stressed & emotional. But celebrating a wonderful new arrival!

We'll be taking the 2 young boys in the photos above (Rashid and Fareed) to Germany on Monday to live on a bigger farm for most of this year to be integrated into a bigger herd and also to be trained. That will be interesting!

Fareed, the younger one, is now becoming the show boy. His mother Faranak is the Matriarch of the herd and he is probably learning from her that he is actually very special. He is the one in the halter on this video taken on Boxing day. Due to bad weather they had been kept indoors for a few days, the snow, sun and very cold (-15 or so) temperature meant that they were up for some show time! Not great quality as it was only taken with my phone.

for some reason the video is not displaying on my laptop, you can also find it here.

Mike, I am so envious of your farm!!! I'd love to live somewhere so beautiful and your horses are beautiful too. Hopefully me and mini mimi will be up to help out this summer so we can see it properly

Terrific video Mike. Nothing like a bit of "horseplay" in the snow to brighten up a winter's day

Re: Tired, stressed & emotional. But celebrating a wonderful new arrival!

It was Rheemahs 2nd birthday last week (I really can't believe it's been 2 years since I started this thread), here she is with a heavily pregnant mum enjoying her special day on grass for the first time this year.

Fingers crossed, her mum will be giving her (and us) the perfect birthday present in the next night or two.

And yes, I am still feeling a tad tired, stressed and emotional!

Thanks for keeping us all up to date with Reemah's progress - she is beautiful. Can't wait to hear about the new arrival
I was interested to know how you got on with the long journey you did the other day with the horsebox, did you have any problems ?

Lots of foal play on your farm, eh, Grumps?

But, really, two years are a long time to be tired, stressed and emotional - no wonder you don't put on weight despite the beers and pies.

No probs apart from it taking 17 hours to get south of Toulouse. The 2 horses we're not happy near the end but they have a beautiful farm to live on for the rest of the year.

Only stressed at this time of year, and the stress works off the beer and pies.

Re: Tired, stressed & emotional. But celebrating a wonderful new arrival!

Congratulations Grumpy! You must be chuffed to bits.

Please can I interrupt this celebration of happiness to act like a spoilt child for a moment.

Can I have a right grumble over the fact that this topic of conversations is identical to the one I posted on Sunday when, after posting that I was married here 2.5 years ago, I celebrated the birth of our first baby daughter (all in switzerland I might add) on Sunday with a thread update....

I Am Married! [18 months later: Birth of Baby]

And within a few minutes of the first people replying it was promptly moved to the arse end of Off Topic because it was a "personal announcement". It is only a message board but all the genuine thanks I received not only for the wedding but subseuqently were immediately removed and the thread became effectively invisible.

Of course my wonderful daughter is still there so it matters not a jot in life, but its very disappointing when utterly banal rubbish such as the bloke who hadnt got the confidence to ask a girl out on the train stays up when those of us who have lived here and contributed to this forum diligently for years are bumped off in what is an unjustifiable doubling of standards.

Ok huff over. I'll get back to work. See you for some more cheese if your down in Vaud area Grumpy.
