Re: Tired, stressed & emotional. But celebrating a wonderful new arrival!

So the vet has been and apart from his back ankles being a bit swollen he seems perfect. He has an amazing "scoop" to his nose and the grey rings round his eyes means he'll probably end up grey like Rheemah. Unfortunantely he hasn't learn to pose for photos with his ears pointing forwards yet, but they'll be plenty of time for that this weekend!

He's a stunner, Grumpy - congrats to Mum and the whole Grapefruit family.

Does the little guy have a name yet?

We've almost decided..... I've just been taking some pics of him this morning, he's very gentle and a real mummies boy but not shy. At 18 hours old on Wednesday he had his first mini gallop, unfortunately I wasn't here to witness his lack of leg control. He's perfected it though now. Here he is just 3 days old.

Re: Tired, stressed & emotional. But celebrating a wonderful new arrival!

And Rheemah is desperate to get close to him but Tiffy is being very protective, so she's feeling a bit left out. Which means she too has been showing off this morning. When I have a day like this it makes all the crazy hours I work seem worthwhile.

Ughhhhh, these all night sessions are beginning to get to me now. Off to take some photos, but here's a little video of our newest addition just 1 hour old.

Just amazing! Yes and I am jealous ,brings back memory of my upbringing on a farm with horses

Re: Tired, stressed & emotional. But celebrating a wonderful new arrival!

I've had the privileges to meet, pet and admire a 6 days old Arabian Prince.
He is so lovely.

So is his mother Tiffy, like a Queen should be!

And let's not forget the lovely big sister, Rheemah.

Thank you again, so much Mike! I loved it!

You're welcome back anytime Begga. This photo is just about the best one we have of Latiffa, you should win a prize with this! (Yesterday was Beggas first time photographing horses, I gave her some pointers about what to look for to show them off to the best advantage, and she got it straight off!)

THANK YOU!
It was definitely a challenge, but I do like challenges and to try something new. I'd like to study horse portraits and then come again and try to nail Rheemah.
Latiffa was just full of prideness, there just had to be one smashing photo of her.
But your generosity, hospitality and compliment is rewarding enough for me!

His name is Shaheen al Jabal - roughly translated as white mountain hawk. I doubt he'll end up pure white, but will certainly be silvery grey. He is such a lovely little boy!
