Dog Parlour in Zurich

Hi All,

I'm looking for recommendations on decent dog parlours ("Hundesalon") within the Zürich city area.

We have a small one year old Yorkshire terrier whom we have taken twice to "Hundesalon Dolly", near Staufacher in Zürich. The service was neither customer friendly, nor quality, neither price effective. It was good location, easily reachable by public transport. After begging and groveling over the phone to take our dog in one week time, chf 100.00 for a 20 min job of quick wash/cut/dry and a nail clip hardly qualifies for value. Just to top it off, his ears has not been cleaned and the haircut made the poor fellow look more like a street dog than a pedigree yorkshire terrier.

I only realised this rip off while on holidaying outside of Switzerland and taking him to a local parlour. After an hour of pampering by the obviously pet loving salon owner, he came out looking spunky, feeling happy and costing me only half. His annoying ear scratching has suddenly stopped too.

Actually, the price is probably the least of my concerns. Living here for awhile now I know Zürich is generally more expensive. Especially for services. But it would be highly appreciated if someone could recommend a parlour where they provide decent service, they care about the animals and know how to get the job done.

Thanks!!!

Re: Dog Parlour in Zurich

100 CHF? Jaysus!

I take my dog to this place. Its easily accessible via Tram 13 from Zurich HB - tram stop is Schwert and its about 3 minutes walk down.

I was charged me 40 CHF for wash / blow dry and even helped me clipped his nails. Best to book in advance - it took me 2 weeks to get an appointment.

The only downside is that the owner / groomer speaks zero English - but I've managed to communicate what I wanted for my dog just fine.

Top Dog. Seefeldstrasse 64, 8008 Zürich. 044 383 19 66. Next to Ginger, opposite Tiffins.

Outrageously funny window display, too

Hi Max,

I just went to the the above address, but could not find any parlours. There is only a boutique and a PC repair shop at 64. Do you think they have moved?

Cheers,
b

Re: Dog Parlour in Zurich

I just took my dog to Hundeshop Carlos which was excellent! It only took about 2 hours to wash and groom my dog. They are easily accessible by the #11 and the bus too! This is also the only dog groomer I found in the Seefeld area. Carlos is also really nice and speaks great English! (Tell Carlos Quincy sent you! )
