Re: Pet Sitting Network

Pets: 1 x 23 year old cat (female, Pudding)
1 x 1 year old 3 legged Birmese (male, Minou or Tripod)
2 X Danish farmdogs (Jack Russels on longer legs) 1 male, 1 female on loan.

So not looking for pet sitters, as my brilliant neighbour looks after the cats when we go away, and dogs go to their 'real' home when we travel.

But we have a very large room at the back of the house, with 3 very large window sills overlooking lovely countryside, horses, cows and lots of wildlife- which I can use to look after cats, especially multiple cats - for short periods of time. They would have to be indoor cats for that time- but would have plenty of space to play and be nice and quiet and peaceful, with lots of cuddles. Floor is lino and walls pine clad- so no risk of damage.

No petcare qualifications apart from being cat owners (well they own you, but ..) for 65+ years. 45 mins from Neuch, 55 mins from Lausanne, 1h20 from GVA.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

No experience with rodents and reptiles or fish- but of course they could be housed there too- providing we have good instructions. Able to administer insulin or other medication.

I live in Gattikon and I wouldn't mind helping somebody to take care of a cat for short whiles. I live in a flat on 3rd floor.

I have always had cats but none at the moment.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi Pet Slaves

My husband and I have given up hope finding a sitter (in house) for our 3 cats and more than happy to do the same for others.

We found a cat hotel http://www.marigin.ch/de/katzenhotel/zimmer/. Just look at the prices! But I guess we'll have to do it!

Our cats are fussy and need constant smoozing and reassurance. Especially my older girl (17 years) who's a bit afraid of my 2 young energized boys (3 years).

My inlaws are unavailable (travel from Germany) due to health issues.

It would be great to meet people who can provide this service (in house) maybe 2-3 times a year for about 7-10 days? I'm more than happy to do the same.
Thanks

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi Pet Owners!
I don't have any pets. Nevertheless, I would love to take care of a sporty or snuggly dog or cat. Free of charge, just for the mutual fun.
I used to walk shelter dogs and some time ago I had a labrador and a cat.
I live in Zug, lake view or lake walks depending on the need included.
PM me if interested.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi!

We are a young couple in our early 20's and we will be in Wollerau until the end of July.

My boyfriend works all day, 6 days a week, so I have a lot of free time. We don't have any pets with us as we move every 3-6 months but we are both animal lovers.

I have a lot of experience with cats, dogs, rodents, fish, and I also love birds and reptiles but never got the opportunity to have my own.

Our landlord allows pets so I would be available to have your little friend here, or come over to look after them.

Don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help, even at the last minute!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Anyone free to watch our pup in October? We will be going on trip the 4th-15th. He's a house trained, mini schnauzer who loves other dogs (especially big ones) and cats. Non shedding. We could do a swap, I can watch your dog in either June or July? I'm in Les Geneveys sur coffrane but can drive to pick up or drop off.

I'm not a huge fan of putting Axel in a pension (he's only been once and he came back with matted crap in his fur and some healing bite marks from another dog)- I know not all are bad, I just don't know what the good ones are here.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi! We just got a new kitten (it was found abandoned by a friend who is allergic to cats and could not keep it) and would like to see if anyone can help cat sit this precious thing from 28 July to 6 Aug. It will be 3.5 months by then, although it'll still need a lot of attention so preferably someone who can spend most of the day with it.

Happy to return the favour if and when needed!

Our pet
Type of animal: Cat
Breed: N/A
Age of animal: 7 weeks today
Animal spayed: Yes
Gender: male

Our environment
House / Apartment: Apartment
Garden: Yes (ground floor apartment)
Any other pets: No
Your location: Zurich gold coast

Any other information
Finally fell in love and just adopted a new kitty to join our 2 member household (my partner and myself) after our last cat passed away 3 years ago. We both work full time but have super flexible schedules that allow us to work from home. Our ground floor apartment has its own yard, sunny patio and is owned by us so no problems with landlords. No other relevant experience other than being a cat owner for over 8 years - happy to cat sit (whether boarding at our place or dropping by yours to check on your kitty)

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi,

I have two wonderfully amazing dogs (modestly speaking). One of them, Cruizer, was a therapy dog for kids (cheering them up, playing with them) while still in the US, very friendly creature, Tennessee Brindle mix, the other one, Smurf, German Shepard-Australia Shepard mix, but much smaller than pure G. Shepard, also very friendly dog. They just love all dogs, we have a cat and they are also playing together and everybody is happy. Other than mice. Mice don't live with us, but cat is keep on bringing them, and I don't think they like that neither, but...it is what it is, she is a hunter. We try to save them and let them go back out.

We are looking for someone who can take care of our dogs from 28 July to 12 August, and ready to return the favor from today. Your dog(s) needs to love cats though....that's the catch.

I'm getting desperate here, can anyone help? Thanks!

Your pet
Type of animal: dog
Tennessee Brindle and G.Shepard mixes
Age of animal: both 2 yrs.
Animal spayed: Yes
Gender: males

Your environment

House / Apartment: apartment with huuuuge terrace
Garden: no
Any other pets: Cat
Your location: Adliswil, Zurich

Re: Pet Sitting Network

My pet

Type of animal:
1 dog

Breed:
Siberian Husky

Age of animal:
1.5 years

Animal spayed?
Yes. He has no balls

Gender
Male

Environment
Apartment- 1 bedroom Apartment, with a balcony

Location:
Villars-Sur-Ollon. We live on a mountain with lots of space for walks/runs

Other information

-About leaving your pet with me:
I am a stay-at home with lot's of time to care/walk/train. Since my dog is a high energy breed, I prefer another dog with similar energy levels, doesn't matter size. Arrow is great with dogs of all kinds, male or female. We go on lots of walks/runs. I have a lot of dog experience and was a part-time dog behaviourist (or as I like to call it "Owner trainer ) back in China and in the U.S. I have a psychology background and have studied theories of learning and behaviour modification for both humans and animals.

-leaving my dog with you:
I would prefer someone who was also home most of the day if you live in an apartment unless if you have a big enclosed garden. (one of my biggest fear is he becomes destructive at someone's home ). Also someone who is comfortable with big/medium sized dogs. He's great with dogs and small children. I am not too sure how he is with cats. he is interested in them and wants to play, I just don't want him to keep harassing your cat.

Dear Crazy Husky Lady,

I am sad that we live 3 hours drive apart, because your home and dog situation is SO much like ours! We have a vizsla and are crazy vizsla parents ourselves. I work from home and have experience working at a vet (as a receptionist, but hey, you learn a lot and do some basic triage!). Our dog also loves every possible human and creature including a love/confused obsession for cats, including our friends cat, who nobly sits on a shelf acting like he doesn't exist. ;-) If you're ever in the Kanton Zug, feel free to contact us for a play date!

Sincerely,

Nicole
