I am sad that we live 3 hours drive apart, because your home and dog situation is SO much like ours! We have a vizsla and are crazy vizsla parents ourselves. I work from home and have experience working at a vet (as a receptionist, but hey, you learn a lot and do some basic triage!). Our dog also loves every possible human and creature including a love/confused obsession for cats, including our friends cat, who nobly sits on a shelf acting like he doesn't exist. ;-) If you're ever in the Kanton Zug, feel free to contact us for a play date!
Sincerely,

| | Re: Pet Sitting Network | Quote: | | | | | I have seen quite a number of threads where people are looking for pet sitters and it can be extremely difficult during the holidays or if you just fancy a weekend away with your other half. Myself included, have had problems over the recent Easter period and fancied a quick trip over to the UK but the pet sitter wasnt working over the Easter period as well.
Inspired by Hsiang's thread on tandem language partners, I was wondering if fellow pet owners out there are keen on the idea of a pet sitting network.
I understand that there will be people who will have concerns over insurance, the experience of the people that you might considering to entrust your beloved pet with. Hence, it will be great if you are planning on joining this network, to list as much details as you can about you, your environment and pet. For example: Your pet
Type of animal: dog, cat, hamster, guinea pig etc etc
Breed
Age of animal
Animal spayed?
Gender
Your environment
House / Apartment?
Garden?
Any other pets?
Your location Any other information
- Any other info about your pets needs will be great as well. This is for other owners to see if there is a match similar both pets lifestyles, before contacting you to pet sit. This of course, will not involve money. Just provide your pet's food, bed, toys if need be. It will be similar to the concept of leaving your pet with a trusted friend and hopefully build up a support network of people who can help you look after your pet if you fancied a last minute getaway, that might not be convenient for your pet to come along, or need to make any emergency trips back to your home country.
Obviously, it will be nice to return the favour as well, down the road.
Just a thought - I am sure there will be other pointers that have not crossed my mind, please feel free to jump in with any comments or suggestions. If there is enough positive feedback, hopefully, we can ask the mods to make a sticky and get this off the ground. | | | | | Hi,
Please find the details of my pet below. I would be interested to help out and seek help for a day-sitting once in a while.
Your pet - Bumble
Type of animal: dog
Breed: Indian Dog
Age of animal: 3 years
Animal spayed? - Yes
Gender - Male
Your environment
House / Apartment? - Independent studio house - ground floor and a small loft
Garden? - Common garden of the apartment complex outside but the dog has to be on leash
Any other pets? - No
Your location - Basel 4051
If anyone is living around the neighbourhood and would like to interact about it, Ill be happy and eager to discuss.

Hi there
Not long been in Switzerland having joined my husband who works full time. This gives me all day to do my thing and to be able to help out my fellow dog owners if/when needs be.
I need someone to look after my elderly pooch who I flew over with me, and loving the Swiss air and walks, when we attend a wedding from the 17th to 20th November 2017 if anyone can help out?
Contact me if you can and if I can help you in return (I believe we are staying in Switzerland over the Christmas period!!).
Your pet
Type of animal: dog
Breed: Choc Labrador
Age of animal:12 years so doesn't need too much excursion
Animal spayed? Yes
Gender: Male
Your environment
House / Apartment? Apartment, ground floor with access to a high walled small enclosure
Any other pets? No
Your location: Zollikon 8702
Any other information
He is very, very, friendly and easy going and has lived with other dogs and cats in the past.
He suffers from arthritis in his front paws so takes medication and a little slow on a walk. Apart from that he is alert and loves a cuddle.

Hi,
My wife and I have been in Switzerland for almost a year. We'd be willing to look after a small dog from time to time. We have a 7 kg Shih Tzu that's about ten years old. We travel a lot.
Your pet
Type of animal: dog, Shih Tzu
Age of animal: 10 years
Animal spayed: yes
Gender: Male
Your environment
House / Apartment: Apartment
Garden: No
Any other pets: No
Your location: Basel 4058
Our dog can be a grumpy old man sometimes and tends to get along better with older dogs. We live near a park (no dogs allowed sadly) but we go on a few walks a day.

We would love to share pet sitting with others in our area.
Our fella is great inside and very loving but has a little anxiety on walks.

Better late than never, eh? Your pet Type of animal: Woof Breed: Dachshund/JRT mix (11kg/25 pounds) Age of animal: 2-3 Animal spayed: Yes Gender: Male Your environment House / Apartment?: Apartment Garden: Nope, balcony. Any other pets: Do stinkbugs count? Your location: Zurich Additional information:
This is an offer for dog sitting. I work from home and our dog gets about 6 miles of walks a day, including hills, so yours can, too. If yours is really high energy, it could potentially get some 6-9 miles of running (not jogging). Or yours can be a couch potato so long as it won't destroy the apartment while the rest of us are out.
Our dog went through a few months of leash reactivity last summer after a series of unfortunate encounters, so while reactivity isn't not my favorite thing to deal with (is it anyone's?), we can handle it provided your dog isn't huge (and assuming it's not aggressive at home). I'm putting that out there because I know what it's like...
Ideally the dogs would know each other ahead of time. But that's not necessary for short emergency stays I guess. Since I work from home, dogs with "off" switches are preferred for longer visits (house training issues/barking/destructive tendencies would be distracting).

Hello, I'm new to the Vevey area and was thrilled to see this Pet Sitting Network. However, I can't figure out how to see the latest postings, and whether I can narrow down posts to Vevey / La Tour-de-Peilz!
Here are my details: Your pet
Type of animal: Dog and Cat
Breed: Dog = big mutt (30kg), black with white on muzzle and chest, short hair like a greyhound rather than the lab she looks a bit like; Cat = grey tabby
Age of animal: Dog = 11 years old; Cat = 15 years old.
Animal spayed? YES
Gender: Dog = female; Cat = male.
Your environment
House / Apartment? 2nd floor apartment by park and lake
Garden? No
Any other pets? We only have the cat and dog. Our dog can get aggressive with other dogs, unfortunately, but it’s usually short-lived!
Your location La Tour-de-Peilz (by Vevey) Any other information
Would love to find someone nearby to swap dog care with! Our cat needs some attention for longer trips and we board him then, but he does OK for long weekends. At this point, we do not have a car, so are limited in our ability to transport our dog, except on public transport.

I live in
Münchenstein and have a
9 month old
Bernese Mountain Dog.
He loves ever living creature. Since we got him, I have sacrificed much more of my work time then planned. I am looking for someone who has a dog who would like to have a (large) playmate and can take of our oversized baby one day a week (Wednesdays would be best). I am willing to pay for doggie daycare, but also willing to have a reciprical agreement.
Anyone interested?
Best!

Age of animal: 2-3
Animal spayed: Yes
Gender: Female
General dog info: a complete mix (terrier, spaniel ++), small-medium size (weighs 10kg)

Age of animal: 5 years

Hi guys!
This is our profile
Your pet: Leo
Type of animal: Dog
Breed: Mixed (21 kg)
Age of animal: 2
Animal spayed: No
Gender: Male
Your environment
House / Apartment?: Apartment (170 sqm)
Garden: Downstairs + 40 sqm balcony.
Any other pets: Nope
Your location: 300m away from Stettbach train station (Zürich)
Photo: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x3x3vk7lp...uvRTH5sja?dl=0
Additional information:
Leo is very friendly with other dogs (although he is a bit shy at the beginning), and has never been conflictive. With humans, he is shy, but sumise. We have had him since he was around 6 months old. Leo is very calm inside of the apartment, but is very active when outdoors. So, we take him for long walks / play.
We live close to Stettbach train station, so we have the forest within a few minutes walking distance which we go almost daily. There is also a large dog playground 400m away from us (Allmend Stettbach).
My wife is not working at the moment, so there is always caring of Leo (and your dog!) as well.
If interested, we can arrange a common walk for the dogs to know each other and see how they get along with each other.

Hello,
Pet: Nil and Sophia
Type of animal: 2 dogs
Breed: Mixed (17 and 20 kg)
Age of animal: 8 & 10
Animal spayed: Yes
Gender: Both female
Good with cats: No
Environment
House / Apartment?: Apartment (120 sqm)
Garden: Big balcony, big windows with mattresses in front for dogs to watch outside.
Any other pets: Nope
Your location: 8045, Zürich
Additional information:
Our dogs are both crazy for people. They like to play with other dogs except sometimes Nil shows aggression to other female dogs, so I walk into other direction in order not to encounter other female dogs. But surprisingly sometimes they make best friends with other females so we need to check it first.
Nil demands attention sometimes, then she brings her toy and looks at you to play with her. Nil is also a fearful dog but she improved a lot. She will not walk if there is lightning, thunder or firework recently. Then we let her pee and quickly come back home.
They walk 30 min X 3 per day.
During the week, they are home alone no more than 4 hours and I have a nestcam that sends me every activity.
Would be great if you live nearby and if our dogs like each other so we can support each other when we need to go somewhere. photo |

Hi Everyone!
Your pet: Bentley
Type of animal: Dog
Breed: Samoyed (10 kg)
Age of animal: 5 months
Animal spayed: No
Gender: Male
Your environment
House / Apartment?: Apartment with a small garden
Any other pets: Nope
Your location: 300m away from Stettbach train station (Zürich)
Additional information:
Bentley is very friendly with dogs, people and children (not toddlers as he sniffs them a little too much and sometimes they get scared). He barks only when left home alone or during training when we withhold his treats. He sleeps a lot now and follows me everywhere I go in the apartment, but he’ll go his way sniffing everything when we’re out. We take him for at least 2 walks a day, 4-5 times to toilet outside since he’s still a puppy, but I’ll be happy to take your dog out more if needed.
We live close to Stettbach train station too @leus! I’m not working at the moment, but leave for German classes in the mornings for 4 hours.
Would be great to find someone whose dog(s) get along well with my puppy and we can support each other and not have to worry about our babies when we’re away!

Looking for a catsitter for my holiday 4-20 Sept
Type of animal: cat
Breed:Bengal

Animal spayed: Yes
Gender: Female
Your environment
House / Apartment: Apartment
Garden: No
Any other pets: No
Your location: Schaffhausen
Hi everyone, I'm looking for care for my cat while I am away on holiday. I can consider both boarding in someone's house or regular visits.
For boarding - She tends to be wary of other cats. Not aggressive so she can safely be boarded with other cats, but I think it's more comfortable for her to be boarded alone, or with calm cats who keep to themselves as well. I only adopted her fairly recently and don't know how she is with dogs, so I prefer to not board her with dogs for now.
For visits - She has an automatic feeder, automatic litterbox and water fountain with filter, so the work is minimal. I am mostly looking for someone to check in whether things are well, and to play with her/pet her so she doesn't get lonely. 1-2 hours per day, perhaps a few hours extra on the first day so she can get used to you (she is shy at first).
Payment can be agreed upon. Alternatively, I can return the favor - walk a dog for a while, board a (calm) cat, or visit your cat while you are on vacation.
