Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi All,

It sounds like this is proving to be a success... i hope someone can help me out...

Your pet:
Type of animal: cat
Breed: Siamese
Age of animal: 2 years
Animal spayed? yes
Gender: female

Your environment
House / Apartment? top floor apartment
Garden? no, only a terrace
Your location: Montreux

I am currently looking for a pet-sitter this week 15-07 to 19-07. Willow is a house cat. She is very friendly, and is good with children. She doesn't like other cats, which is why leaving her in a cattery is a very last resort. (The last time we did leave her in a cattery, she was very stressed and the lady recommended not leaving her in a cattery again). She has had experience of being around small dogs, but i dont think she likes them either! She is fully littered trained and doesnt scratch at furniture. She will no doubt be your new best friend if you take time out to play with her!

Please PM me if you can help!

Many thanks.

Tola

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi all,

I think this is an excllent idea.

My Pet
Type of Animal: Persian Cat (Oscar)
Breed: Persia Grey
Sex: Male
Age: 12 (but acts alot younger)
Animal Spayed? Yes

Environment
First floor apartment with balcony

Pet Temperment
Oscar loves people, and wants to be around people whenever he can. He is excellent with other cats, dogs and children. His interests include being groomed, chasing and being the centre of attention. Oscar has been a house cat all his life and has never been outside.

I am looking for someone to look after oscar from the 4th to the 17th of August - in their home if possible, however all options would be considered.

I would be available to return the pet siiting favour from september onwards.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

We are happy to care for your dog (at our house) while you are away and we can also check in on your cat if you are nearby (we have a car) - may be able to bring a cat to our apt if it is well socialized with dogs already.

Our info:
Type of animal: dog
Breed: lab mix 25kg
Age: 9 Years Old
Animal spayed: yes and all vac US and CH
Gender:Female (well socialized and housebroken)

My environment
Large Apartment: small side yard area (unfenced) - but we walk miles on our daily walks by the Rhein and in the Randen. Husband works from home so they have company all day.

Address: Near Alt Stadt, Schaffhausen

We have trips planned for: 21 - 29 Aug ; 25Sept - 2 Oct ; 18 Dec - 2 Jan - so are looking to trade sitting favors with someone who can cover one of these times for us.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

We are looking to trade cat sitting with another cat owner in the Walchwil /Zug area.

Type of animal:Cat
Breed: Main Coon
Age of animal: 6 years
Animal spayed: Yes
Gender: Male

We are currently in a lovely little apartment with a balcony on first floor with a beautiful view of Rigi in Walchwil. It is a very convenient location close to Bahnhof and the lake for swimming.

Rocky is a great companion and loves to cuddle and play fetch. He is strictly an indoor cat. He is also still a bit scared after his long flight from Canada and needs to be able to run to his safe zone under the bed. He comes out as soon as he realizes there is shrimp on the table

He does not have any nasty habits. No scratching of furniture as he was trained young to use his scratch board. He grew up with an older mean guy who left us last year so he has experience with other cats and has a good temperament.

We are hoping to get away for a few days at the end of July, beginning of August and again some time later in August, for a few days each time. Preferably you could stay here with him as he is used to us being around, alternately we would look for someone who could come and feed him twice a day as that could work too.

I love cats and would be willing to care for yours in our home or yours in exchange and my time is usually fairly flexible.

Blu would do really well having a doggy companion for a long weekend or so.(I don't think I'd be able to manage more than three or four days right now - but you can be assured that your dog will get plenty of love and exercise for that time)

We do have two (other) children too (age 1 and 4) who are very good with dogs, but the dog would have to be good with them too. I really don't know how Blu would respond to a cat. We love cats though ( I used to run a cattery back home) so if you have a dog and a cat and your cat knows his streetsmarts round a playful pup I'm sure it will be ok.

We don't often go on very long trips, but we would like to go away for the occasional long weekend knowing that Blu is having a good time too.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi
Did this ever get off the ground?? I am interested in this a huge amount, we are going to miss our UK dog sitting network of family.....

so, here goes....
Your pet
Type of animal: dog
Breed - Border Collie
Age of animal - 3 (in a few weeks)
Animal spayed? - no, seasons are in January and August
Gender - Bitch

Your environment

House - House large
Garden? - yes large
Any other pets? - yes 3 cats
Your location - Egg b.zurich

we would usually be able to find some way of sorting the cats out and enable them to not be moved, but we will occasionaly want to fly back to UK rather than drive, and therefore not be able to take Suzi, she has the most adorable temperament, has been brought up with lits of love and cuddles, and frequently comes to our side and asks for a cuddle

she is very talkative, and her face is so expressive, you will absolutely fall in love with her, and she almost never barks, she barks only once, on the way out of the front door for a walk, i think she is telling us to 'hurry up Mum'

anyway, would love to join this network, and get a group of trusted dog loving friends going...

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi there,

Although we do have some great friends who are our current dog-sitters, they may not always be available and I think this is a great idea and would love to be able to help out other people too...

Your Pet
Type of animal: 2 (Yes 2) dogs
Breed: Springer Spaniels
Age of animal: 9 & 5 years
Spayed: Yes, both
Gender: Bitches (not related)

Your Environment
House: Ground floor apartment
Garden: Yes, private and fenced
Any other pets: No
Location: Bruttisellen, 8306

Our dogs are very sociable and we have great walks in the woods most days. We also have a car which we refer to as our "mobile kennel". I would have to say that cats are really not an option, but other dogs, big or small would be welcome.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hello,
My husband, dog, and I just moved to Basel from Seattle. I was so excited to come across this post as we would love to find people to swap pet sitting weekends with while we explore the surrounding areas (that we cannot take our dog).

My pet
Type of animal: dog
Breed: Mix of possibly border collie- maybe Belgian shepherd ?? (50 pounds)
Age of animal: 7 years old
Animal spayed: yes
Gender: male

Your environment
Apartment
Garden: yes
Any other pets: no
Your location: Basel

Please PM me if you are interested in setting up some dog swaps. Perhaps we could meet and see if our dogs get along first. Unfortunately, we cannot offer to pet sit cats because I am allergic and Austin does not get along very well with them.

Thanks!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi animal lovers,

I have a lovely puppy which I got 6 weeks ago. He loves to play with other dogs and play fetch!

I'm not planning any trips yet, but it would be nice if someone could watch him occasionally for a few hours at a time (or overnight).

I'm mostly working at home, so I have plenty of time to care for your dog and would be happy to, as long as he can be a good companion to mine

My Pet
Type of animal: Dog (puppy)
Breed: Parson Russell Terrier
Age of animal: 4 months
Spayed: In the future (still too young)
Gender: male

My Environment
House: Apartment
Garden: No, but lots of trails
Any other pets: no
Location: Zürich (Schwamendingen area)

Thanks!

This is a great idea. We just moved in Schaffhausen last April and we will like to go to Canada from Dec 28-Jan 9th.
I will like to book our fligts soon but I have to find a safe place for my 2 dogs before.

We would be happy to exchange care for other dog. I stay home and guarantee good care. Here's our info:

Type of animal: 2 dogs
Breed: Westie and Fox Terrier
Age of animal: 9 & 8 years

Gender: 2 males

Your Environment

Garden: Yes, not fenced. Lots of area for walking
Any other pets: No
Location: Schaffhausen, 8200

Our dogs behave well with small female dogs. We walk alone the Rhein river 3x per day.
