My father is very involved with his local animal shelter, and he's told me about The Animal Rescue Site. Voting for shelters helps them to get money towards care of the animals they help.

If you want to vote, you can vote for any shelter in the US, Canada, Mexico and several other countries. If you don't know which one to vote for, my dad is involved with the Humane Society of McCormick County, Inc. in South Carolina and they'd appreciate your vote

Regardless of which shelter you vote for, please do vote as the money won by the shelters is much needed and appreciated and does a lot towards helping rescued animals.

Done! I love that its a no-kill shelter too.

My pup is a rescue from a shelter in North Carolina. Not a no-kill, sadly. So many abandoned animals in NC. We adopted her on a day where they were having a half price promotion due to overcrowding, and some of the volunteers kept saying that she might not be there next week. I didn't realize till later that it probably didn't mean she might be adopted by someone else.
