Does anyone have experience with renting a car and riding with Dogs?

I have heard they need protection from being thrown through the air in an accident - If so, what is required and do any car agencies provide it??

No you need to provide your own harness and seat belt for your dog.

This has been discussed before. The dog should not in any way interfere with the driver.
