I recently started to bring my cat to Vet in Switzerland..( Previous I alwayas brought him to Germany...)

I found the costs in Switzerland is so expensive..almost double than in Germany...

I brought my cat to have 2 shots...
I see there is even a Vet consultany for 15 mins and cost almost Fr.50...

And another 2 annual shots cost almost Fr.100...


Did I go to the wrong Vet or it is the market price...?

sounds about right, at least about the same as we pay anyway pet insurance is a must here!!

Same as i pay. Not happy about it but it will keep the cats healthy (i hope)

Which pet insurance have you subscribed to? AFAIK, it doesnt cover shots.

OP, I paid 50 CHF - 80 CHF for my dog's annual boosters. Cant remember exactly how much now. Sounds about right.

Same price range for me. I also can't say that it is so bothersome. I pay a lot more for my dentist and doctor. Why should the vet be so much less?

I've always found Swiss vets to be much more reasonably priced than UK ones

Our dog is insured with animalia, she has a 500 chf excess, but they will cover the cost of annual booster up to 50 chf per calender year, this is what it says on their website:

Impfungen Fr. 50.- pro Kalenderjahr, nicht der Franchise und dem Selbstbehalt unterliegend (diese Leistung ist bei der reinen Unfalldeckung nicht eingeschlossen)

(doesn't affect the excess or premium).

I think we pay about 65 chf for the annual booster, so it works out quite well.
