Some years ago we took our dogs to a vet near Brugg, but he has retired, and his practice has been taken over, and moved to Windisch as of April 2011.
Here are the new details:
Dr. med. vet. Jacqueline Hochstrasser
Dohlenzelgstrasse 23
5210 Windisch
056 441 4166
I have not been there personally but I understand English is not a problem. She is recommended by someone on this website, www.hundi.ch (it is in German and if you can understand German you can see what the locals say...which is always very interesting).

This one I found in another Vet thread: | Quote: | | | | | ...
I used to bring my dog to Dr Buchler in Hongg. Dr Buchler is very experienced, extremely professional and a highly skilled surgeon. He did my dog's castration and removal of an extra toe with minimal scarring (in fact, I cant find any!). His details are:
Dr. med. vet. Emil Büchler

I wanted to add this vet, as I have found her to be very professional and extremely caring of all our animals. We had to go to her when we found out Switzerland does not license our dogs arthritus injections.
She is a one woman band but don't let that put you off Germany (near Bad Zurzach - AG)

Reason: More to add. Just to add, her English is limited however so is my German and we seem to get on fine.

Just took my dog to http://www.kleintierpraxis-baselwest.ch/ yesterday to register him. Had a great experience. Seemed very honest and the two people I spoke with were very good with English. They are located right by the end stop of tram 8.

I have been very happy with the level of care from my vet (in Denges, between Lausanne and Morges).
Dr Martine Kinsbergen
Rte de Genève 107 C
1026 Denges (VD
Tél: 021 802 45 45
Fax: 021 802 43 45
Opening Times:
Monday & Friday: 08h00 - 17h00
Tuesday & Thursday: 08h00 - 12h30, 14h00 - 18h30
Wednesday 08h00 - 12h00
Also open 08h00 - 12h00 on several Saturdays each month, although this may vary.
She speaks fairly good English (although I prefer to talk with her in French). The receptionist / assistant does not, but seems used to clients whose French is not great.
I find that they remember me and Tabitha, show a very caring attitude, are ready to give free advice on the phone and to go the extra mile - for example, when Tabitha was first put on special food I couldn't carry Tabitha and the food back home, and they were closing fairly shortly. So they put the food in their mail-box for me to collect later.

| | Re: The Vet Thread | Quote: | | | | | ZH: Dr. Med. Vet. Daniel Suppiger. Near Horgen though not in the centre. Nearer to the Waldegg Centre. Great guy and very good level of English. Found my dog's slipped disc when we were convinced it was constipation! Also, another vet had diagnosed pain caused by diahorrea. http://www.kleintierpraxis-suppiger.ch/ | | | | |
Hello.
Just wanted to add my recommendation for Dr Suppiger. I took my dog when she started to be unable to stand up. Perfect diagnosis, honest and respectfull aproach. He put her to sleep so kindly. Also helped us to arrange everything afterwards for the cremation.
The praxis is not in zürich but it totally worths the journey.

For the Muri/Bern area, I've found this clinic to be good. It's very clean, and the vets and nurses speak English. They actually took over from Hans-Peter Sterchi who I believe has retired. http://www.kleintierpraxis-elfenau.ch/

Excellent Vet! I have a crazy Shiba Inu who hates going to the vet. Every vet we've taken her to in the US automatically muzzles her. Dr. Kuhn has an excellent bedside manner and only muzzles her when absolutely necessary.

In Wollerau: http://www.tierarzt-wollerau.ch
I have not been to her yet (but plan to one of these, as I really should have someone in the area), but my sitter has taken other client's dogs to Dr. Rusch and speaks highly of her. She is happy to conduct a consultation in English.
In Einsiedeln: http://www.tierarzt-einsiedeln.ch/pages/praxisteam.php
I have been to Dr Göller, and like her. She is not my regular vet, but I saw her when one of mine had an emergency while I was in the area. She also gave a first-aid seminar to our Hundeschule; I like that she does out-reach in the community. She prefers to do consultations in German, but understands enough English if you get stuck for a word.
These days my 'regular' vet has pretty much become the Spezialistenklinik referred to previously. One of mine has some complex issues going on so I'm finding I need a team of interdisciplinary specialists more often than not. The clinic is in Hünenberg, ZG about 30 minutes from Pfäffikon. I chiefly see Dr Alexander Gerold: www.spezialistenklinik.ch | This user would like to thank meloncollie for this useful post: | |

Kleintierartzpraxis gobli on industriestrasse in zug is very good. The vets speak English as do most of the assistant staff. They have a very good manner with my nervous little dog and are very kind and knowledgeable.

They are our local vet (a whole 3 minutes' drive away) and do regular care as well as specialist care.
We went there for the first time last week - the vet spoke first rate English. Their general website is http://www.ennetseeklinik.ch/site/index.cfm |

In my post on the vet in COMMUGNY, TANNAY, COPPET, this vet is situated in MIES which has not shown up against the postal code. It concerns DR OMABO. He is in the Canton of VAUD, 20 minutes drive from Geneva.

Hi and thanks for all of the good info here. Does anyone on this forum have experience with a veterinary orthopedic specialist in the Zurich area? I found this link but haven't seen them mentioned elsewhere: http://www.ecvs.org/animal-owners/sp..._submit=Search
I have a dog with elbow dysplasia who has had arthroscopic surgery and stem cell treatment. You wouldn't know there was anything wrong with him if you watched him run around but he will need continued monitoring and possibly additional stem cell treatment - bonus points if anyone has any experience with the latter, esp. with frozen cells already banked in the US.
