How to post a pet ad - READ THIS BEFORE POSTING!

Under the Swiss Animal Welfare law, SR 455.1 Article 76a, anonymous advertisement of dogs, whether for sale or rehoming, is not allowed. The platform or medium of advertising is responsible for compliance.

But because it is forum policy not to post real names or contact details, the decision was made that advertising of dogs, either for sale or rehoming, is not allowed.

Posts doing so will be deleted.

When you are posting an ad, please follow these guidelines:

Title
Make your title descriptive, short and to the point. You must include For Sale/Free or Wanted, along with your location and the kind of animal (cat, ferret, turtle, etc.).

Examples:

For Sale: Pedigree in Basel
Free kittens in Zurich
Wanted: Lizard in Geneva Area

Description

Give as much information as you can. Age, breed, etc.

Picture

A picture is worth a thousand words, or so the cliche goes. Try and add a picture if you're selling/giving away a pet.

Breeders

Posts from professional breeders are not accepted.

Phone Numbers and Email Addresses

Forum rules prohibit the posting both email addresses and telephone numbers. Please use the PM feature instead. Threads with phone numbers or email addresses will be edited by the mods.

Important

We're talking about living, breathing creatures here. Some consider them to be family members. There will be no flaming in this area. Flame posts will be deleted without warning.

Abusers in this section (flames, harassment, breeders, etc.) can be banned (temporary or permanent) from posting in the English Forum without warning at the discretion of the mods.

We reserve the right to remove any posts from this section at any time.

This section is only for users with ten or more posts under their belts and seven days as a forum user.

Contacting a Moderator to correct a mistake in your post.
If you make an error in your Thread/post which you cannot correct yourself, Moderators can do it for you. The most efficient method of contacting them is to 'report' the post. Click on this ikon, at top right of the message. This sends your report (and the link to the relevant post) to all the current moderators.

If you need to contact a specific Moderator, this list is here. Don't forget that Moderators, contrary to popular belief, have a life outside EF and are perhaps not available when you send you message.

More useful information if you are thinking of adding a dog to your family.

How to spot a reputable breeder.
