Property wanted/ needed

Hi All

First of all my apologies as I think my post fits in both the property offered and needed, so I decided to post it here.

I used to work and live in CH, and currently now work and live abroad. For personal reasons related to my son I however still spend every second weekend in Ch, in Basel/Bottmingen to be more specific. The expense of maintaining two residences on the other side is getting to be too much, and so I am looking at ways of optimising that.

1 Option would be to rent a place in some Airbnb way every second weekend, the other to sublet my flat when I am not there. I am generally looking for people with ideas or that have a similar issue to see if I can work something short of canceling my flat.

Many thanks in advance.
W

Re: Property wanted/ needed

I don't know if this is helpful, but a friend of mine rented a room in a flat that belonged to a person who only came to Zürich on the weekends. He was willing to do this because the room was pretty cheap, so he put up with what was basically his own flat most of the time, with an occasional old guy showing up now and then.

So, you might find be able to find a student who is willing to put up with this situation.

We made a bit of fun of our friend for having this weird old dude as a roomate. If being made fun of (indirectly, not to your fave) by a bunch of 20 year olds is a nogo for you, I wouldn't recomend subletting to a student.

Re: Property wanted/ needed

depends if the flat is just for yourself to sleep or for your son also and to do activities. if just a place to sleep, then i think airbnb arrangement would be the cheapest and you could even rent across the border in france.

as noted above, if the flat has multiple rooms you could let out one of the rooms to at least defray some of the costs.
