The Weather forecast looks excellent for Zermatt for Saturday 22nd. It will be an awesome day for Heli Skiing

Like last year, I am very tempted but It's still early and I don't have my A game yet. As well, I am due in Zermatt the following weekend...

In any event, What time to we have to be at the helicopter port? I assume this is a half day event?

I consider it a full day event, especially considering the transport time.

I told them, we would arrive with the Train at 10.14 in Zermatt, but this time, we have a quite loose reservation, as we are more or less the first group to go for heli skiing this Season. Last year, it was arrival at 10.14 at the station, arrival at the heliport 11.00, and take off 11.30. With the same train times, I expect the same take-off time this year, but subject to confirmation on friday 21.01.2011

Confirmation/Cancellation will be on short notice friday, so PM your mobile number, if you want to join - or at least check here, before going to ZH HB on saturday morning.

Will have to pass this time. I am now stuck somewhere else on Saturday morning so will be in Zermatt following weekend. Will be interested if it gets moved back a weekend.

Hello - I am very tempted!

I have two questions: How many do you have in the group so far? How long does the descend take roughly? Will one be able to return to Zurich in the evening?

I check at home, if anybody has signed up from glocals. I Can not check on my phone, and the proxy at work blocks it too, but i Do not have any confirmed yet.

It Will take ca. 4 hours, and I expect to go back to Zürich same day.

I was hoping someone would ask that. Easy answer: don't go. Take a train or postbus to any of several hundred other places in CH that are just as attractive and where the skiing is probably far better. And where you won't be ruining everyone else's peace and quiet and heating up the atmosphere with thousands of litres of kerosene. That might earn me a groan, but you'll get plenty more groans from your children when they no longer have any snow to ski on.

By advertising here AND on Glocals in the hope, we get the helicopter filled up, and thus lowering the average fuel consumption per person :-)

Cancelled.

Not enough snow plus we needed 1 person more anyway.

I may be able to try again 12 February, otherwise 26th, but will open a new event, when we get closer.
