For the last few weeks, many of my Swiss customers have been asking me what I am planning to celebrate the Royal wedding. I hadn't thought of doing anything, but they have persuaded me that it really should be the done thing and they would be disappointed if I didn't do something for them (the couple and my Swiss customers). So here it is.

This is going to be a very fun evening, part of a series of more commercial events that we will be hosting at our "British Aisle" at the Viadukt Markthalle to celebrate the wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The full schedule of events has not yet been finalised but during the whole week there will be tastings of Afternoon Tea, Ales, Single Malts, Port and Sherry, cheeses (of course) and world beating English Sparkling Wine. The week will culminate with live BBC broadcast of the wedding at our stall on the Friday lunchtime.

The evening before though (Thursday) we are hosting this Social Event, a joint Stag and Hen party for the couple. There will be prizes for the most imaginative costumes..... Ascot/English wedding hats for the ladies, DJ's for the gents, Beefeaters costumes., kilts........ anything is allowed, in fact, "anything" is encouraged.

There will be some free finger food, Stilton Scooping etc and at 8.00 we can all head to the bar and show the Swiss how to party. We are confident that we will get the local press interested, so you could get your photo in the paper with this one.

Bring your camera, because there will be an opportunity to have your photograph taken with the couple.... OK, a life size cardboard cut out of them.

I know it's early but some of you might need time to get your costumes sorted. I certainly need time to find enough bunting and to get my liver in shape.

Trams 4 and 13 stop outside of the Viadukt Markthalle at Dammweg, nearest parking is at the Migro multi storey at Limmatplatz and there is some metered parking all along Viaduktstrasse from Limmatstrasse to Heinrichstrasse.
