Fasnacht does not start to get interesting until it is dark, so meeting up too early is not a good idea, unless everyone wants to go for dinner first. I would suggest meeting at 8.30-9pm and heading down to the Zytglogge area where everything happens anyway.

I would love to come, but I would have to know that there will be some people staying up until the early hours in the morning so I'm not alone! Is anyone that much of a party animal? It's either that, or I leave really early. Pain in the bum!

Hi guys
How regular is the social scene in Bern for you lot? I ask as I live in London but spend a fair amount of time in Spiez and Bern so would be interested in joining an event. What is the age range at events please?

It depends on who shows up and it doesn't actually matter, how old people are.
The meeting point is the Markthalle, at the main bar upstairs. I will be there before 8, and I will be drawing a sign today, with ENGLISH FORUM written on it, as it is Fasnacht I doubt the Bernese will find this odd. I also have short blonde hair and will be carrying a red bag. My mobile number is 078 619 71 23 so please call me if you can't find the Markthalle, me or my sign.
How late the event goes on to really depends on the people who are coming. And Graham - shall we meet up with your group later? Call me so we know where you'll be.

I've included my number in the other post, but to be safe, 078 619 71 23. Do you know where the Markthalle is? Otherwise I can meet you in the main hall at the railway station, otherwise, www.markthalle-bern.ch has a map.

I can't really say who is in the Bern crowd now, it used to be more of the 30+ age range, but that was a year ago, and things have probably changed. Anyway, I hope you can make it to one of the events, if not this one. I live close to Interlaken perhaps we can organise a meet for the people who live around Thun and Spiez?

If you walk from the Loeb (the big store on the corner as you come out of the railway station, near the church) in the direction of Hirschengraben ie opposite direction to the old city, it is just up the sidewalk, practically next to a shoe store and an opticians. But yes, give me a buzz, I'll be there early.

Hi, we can SMS each other in the evening and try to meet up at the Zunft zu Webere at 10 pm, in Gerechtigkeitsgasse 68 at the lower end of the Old City. It is great inside, sometimes even dancing, perhaps music upstairs, but probably no room. It will be impossible to hear the phone!
Probably I wear "The Scream" mask at least to hide my balding head: http://unrealitymag.com/wp-content/u...2/scream-2.jpg

Sounds great. The Zunft is fun place - I'll steer us in that direction for 10pm. Otherwise SMS is a good idea.
