Ski season??
Every Wednesday evening from mid December till mid/end March there's a group of ETH students/alumni who go x-country skiing in Einsiedeln.
Running is a lot of fun, but this is even better

Yes, but he left out the part about being highly addictive.

I guess we'll let Sylvain do what he wants, even if it's skiing in the dark... ... since it's his birthday that day!

Thanks, TT, for starting these up again

Re: Zurich Wednesday Running/Jogging Group

Just to give a more detailed overview for the new newcomers/fence-sitters:

The most FAQ is, quite rightly, "how long, how fast". Well, the most accurate answer is, the pace is set by the slowest runner.

The fastest runner I know is capable of a flat half-marathon in 80 mins, the slowest about 120 mins. Some run ultra-marathons; some just run once a week for socializing. Normally the faster ones tend to do a few sprints back and forth, so in the end everyone gets a good workout.

Most importantly, people are usually nice, and very rarely do they bite and scratch, only once did they eat a newbie. So the odds are very much that you will be safe and will enjoy this run. Come and try it.

Cheers,
N

and as far as I recall (I haven't been running for ages), runs are about 1hr long, give or take 15 min depending on everybody's mood.

Hope you guys have a lot of fun.

Re: Zurich Wednesday Running/Jogging Group

as one of the slower runners in this group, I can confirm this is all true--lovely people, nice routes, laid-back evening. Just give it a try if you're not sure!

Re: Zurich Wednesday Running/Jogging Group

OK after doing nothing physical in 3 months, other then bending my elbow testing all the beer I could find in Zurich... I got off my over 40 duff, and joined in the run today.

It was a little cold while we were waiting, however once we started to run, you warmed up pretty fast. The pace for me (slow jog) was just fine, the true runners raced ahead up hills and back to check on me while I went at my own pace. I did not loose a lung, I saw the most awesome views of Zurich at night, and really felt good both during and after the run. I highly recommend it folks... slow and fast runners, joggers and wantabes

Thanks for encouraging me.. and for keep the run fun.

I will be back....

That's actually the key word so long as you enjoy an hour of run/jog at a conversational pace, everyone is I thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie and look forward to the next one, hopefully a more trail run.
