Looks like we'll be seeing you on Friday! Thinking of staying the night actually, is there any particular place in Brunnen you'd recommend/avoid?

The only exception was when we three were, by bycicle, in Schwyz-town and my colleagues wanted to return via the "Sattel". I objected and quit. Got to Brunnen, sent a postcard to myself as proof !, and returned back home via Zug. On arrival, I was astonished to learn that my colleagues were "missing" . They returned two hours later. The relaxed laid-back mother of P... only called once and uttered something about "tüpisch P...." while the "Oma" of M... called twice and on her 2nd call uttered "if M.... only would learn to yield to the ...". On the car-travel to Italy, Brunnen was a place, after dep. from Zch at 3am, we got through at around 3.45 . There were no highways around here in those times And I anyway was looking forward to arrival in Airolo -- Ambri-Piotta -- Varese -- Fidenza -- Pietrasanta

Sounds like a plan...)

Exactly ! A private personal triumph, and a village at a nice place on the lake, but otherwise rather boring |

Wow! I'm looking forward to see you both, Mathnut and DB.
I was just in Brunnen this morning and asked someone about a good place to spend the night. She recommended Alfa and Schmid, which is located on the lake and has incredible views. http://schmidalfa.ch/
And it's only a 7 min. walk to the Enoteca (3 min if you know the shortcut).
See you on Friday! (as well as any other EFers who'd like to join)

Rather sadly, I'm not drinking at the moment so will be driving.
Have space for one if anyone wants a lift somewhere along my way - Zürich-Brunnen, or a lift back somewhere along Brunnen-Merlischachen.
Can bring my other car if this proves popular.

We're coming up from deepest darkest Glarnerland so won't need it - thanks though!

If you are about tomorrow, this may be of interest if you want to look at some Swiss Army Knives: Victorinox Visitor Centre
Official opening 21st May.

Just wanted to thank DB, MN and 70skitch for coming to the get together. We had a nice visit, lots of laughs and even managed to talk about many on this forum, which was kind of weird since I really only knew very few of you. Does this make us an inofficial club?
DB was terribly disappointed that he couldn't pay in beads but the local natives nowadays prefer whisky as their method of payment.
