If time permits, we may squeeze in the visit to: Notre Dame du Haut (Rohnchamp) Cathedral
It is beautiful building, a masterpiece of Le Corbusier (Franco-Swiss architect)
It is enlisted into '100 most beautiful cathedrals in the world'
And photography opportunities inside and outside are just fantastic: | The following 2 users would like to thank Meeyat for this useful post:

stay in Besancon.
I have reserved Citéa Besançon http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/citea-besancon.html
the hotel is centrally located, has good reviews on booking.com and it is cheap. (around 20 eur/person, without breakfast)
If you can secure something nicer or more convenient, that would be good, I can cancel this one.

actually, I figured out that this is not Alsace, it is Franche-Comté region.
Even better, I say!
Franche-Comté is a must to visit. Famous for its cheese, history and great party spirit, great food and friendly locals plus the breathtaking landscape. I can't wait to go there!

Ishaka, so I am reading between the lines that you will be joining!
cmirsky - I have booked accommodation for 10 people, in the center of Besancon (Citea Besancon). It is inexpensive and looks nice. Which means there will be more cash left for wine!
My car is full - but I reckon there will be someone with a car. Aryans is also looking for an extra seat. There's a business case for weekend rental from, say, Lorrach (should be cheaper)...

OP, do you need to edit the event title to Franche-Comté?
Alsace rings a bell to more people (type of culture, art, etc,) even if is geographically incorrect...either way.

I think if I edit the title of the event, all the reservations are gone. So people may need to re-subscribe .
Besides I thought that "Franche-Comté" is a fancy food or something like haute cousine, or RSVP, or some other funky French expression...
you live, you learn...
Aurevoir!
PS: theMod was faster than me! The title is edited now. Thanks MusicChick (you avatar's great, btw!)

Thanks for organizing what looks to be a super weekend!
The hotel you recommended is filling up, so please make a final booking soon. Is there a group booking? To avoid any confusion I have already booked my double room with booking number 923.883.405 . http://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/cite...06534ccda7aeX2
.

Hey, really cool event. Next time I am on board, definitely. Have a car, just don't know anyone who wouldn't be scared to drive with me |

You know, the best time is now, who snooze loose, don't procrastinate, etc.
If you join, I am sure that you will have the great company in the car. Aryans for example. And awesome company on the whole trip. And since in CH on Sunday shops are closed and laundry is forbidden (!) I am unable to see what else you can do...

Typical. A weekend of fun in Zurich already planned. And I have a house in Besancon so know it a little bit.
I would plan on at least three hours for the Citadel. Here is a picture. | The following 2 users would like to thank Bananahead for this useful post:

Nice trip! We went to Besancon in october and also stayed in the Citea Hotel. Pretty basic, but has all you need and it was clean. Walking downtown will take about 15-20 minutes.
I second the 3 hours for the citadel - it's a large area and even contains some sort of zoo. Hope you have a good time!
