Motorcycle rides out No 3/BBQ

Here we can arrange the details of where to meet for the ride down to Angie and Mikes place on Sunday 10th April. Arrival time at their place from 1100 onwards.

More details to follow.

I'm off to check the tyres pressures and oil level.
Does anyone know a good , cost effect tyre suppliers. Not sure if I can stomach 600 CHF for a front and back!

I generally pay 500, but a friend told me he knows of perhaps a lower price. Would be useful, as I go through between 3 and 5 pairs/year! (already, I know I need tires for the SS and 999R, and probably the LeMans)

Not had to replace mine yet on either bike, but will soon, so hope I can find a good price. Boxster needs summers on as well, 2 front from last year and 2 new rears, 800 CHF :-(

Hedgehog: Check CC Racing in Zürich Albisrieden. Best prices but I've never been there.

My favorite is cigar smoking Erich Helfenstein in Neftenbach, probably too far from your place.
Another good address is Fehrenbacher in Jestetten/D

Re: Motorcycle rides out No 3/BBQ

Hi to all, The address for the BBQ is sent by email(Brienzwiler). Arrival anytime from 1100 onwards. If weather is good, we can get together for the ride down and frighten the locals when we arrive :-)
So far, Jorn, Kelvin and Zoran plus myself will meet up somewhere by my place, then run down to Thalwil to pick up Matt(unless he takes the car)
After that, where is a good place to meet up with everyone else. How about somewhere in Horgen?? WE have the option of then either going down on motorways and A roads, unless someone knows a good way to ride down to our hosts. It'll take us 30 mins to get to Thalwil, the 12 to Horgen, so if we start at 0900, that would give us a 0930 at Matts, then about 0945 in Horgen.
Thoughts all ??
Chris

With Reifendirect - how do hyou locate a bike tyre fitter, rather than a car one. It only seems to mention car !

It used to have them at the start of the ordering process.

This time round I went straight to Triumph as the tyres were only 30CHF more than reiffendirekt and were fitted for free .

Here is the itn file for the run from AMAG Horgen to Mike and Angies place. Just unzip and copy into the itn directory on Tomtom, then you can load the itinery.

Hi all

Link to the pics, as I decided to put them on my site instead of making them too small.

I really like the panoramas of the mountains.

Re: Motorcycle rides out No 3/BBQ

Thanks to Angie and Mike for being the hosts and throwing a fantastic location in as well - it means we are well buggered for the next one!

And thanks to the traffic planner who decided to extend the motorway from Lucerne all the way to Zurich, whithout the slightest hint that the turn to Zug might be the old way !!
The Uetliburg tunnel was particularly stunning in the spring sun!! And then that 50:50 decision - go through Zurich or down and overto Rapperswill. Suffice to say, most of central Europe seemed to be partaking of fresh air in the 'will ... so the traffic was normal customary bastard mess !!
Next time I'll chance the big ZH and Burkliplatz !!
