City/Town: Zurich/Adliswil
Event Type: Sports
Meeting Point: Pot Belly's, Soodring 21 (8134)

UPDATE ON PAGE 2 IN RED!!

Similar to Friday Night Drinks, but with pool happening in the background---and again on a SATURDAY (gasp!). Oh, and this time, with a change of scenery!

We play, we drink, we just want to have fun! As always, come if you want to play, if you want to drink, if you want to meet new people, and/or if you are just interested in seeing what it is all about. It is usually a great crowd and all are welcome.

NEW location:
Pot Belly's
Soodring 21
8134 Adliswil, Switzerland
044 709 08 48
http://www.potbellys.ch/

I know, I know, why change the location, you ask?! Well, this bar kind of caters to expats. So we are getting a bit of a deal on the greens fees. Plus, the beer selection is better, the food is quite good, and really, the commute isn't much different. The bar is located literally up the stairs at the Sood-Oberleimbach stop off the S4 train about 10 minutes from Zurich main station. The SN4 runs just like all the other nach trains for us late/all nighters. And at a certain point, a change of venue is good to try out... My thought is, if you guys come out for a good time, the venue doesn't matter!

Any other questions can be pm'ed to me or asked below. I will give a final update on the day of the event with my clothing selection.

Looking forward to (hopefully) a great turnout!

Re: Social Pool Night

First time my crazy work schedule will free up enough for me to breathe a bit... Sorry for the "delay" in our normal monthly pool schedule.

**Please note the change of location**

Re: Social Pool Night

Oh...its very nice to drink, play pool (i am not good at pool though) and meet new people.

I had been here quite some time and never really got the courage to attend any of the social events organized...maybe its time to "venture" out.

I'm tired of living with only few friends

Will try to get a baby sitter arrange and join the party!!! Will it be odd for me to join as I didnt know anyone?

Time to get the courage! We are a very fun and welcoming group... Oh, and as Golfprostew says, coming out alone is quite normal and very much accepted. And you don't have to be good--that is part of the fun of social nights.

Re: Social Pool Night

Excited to support new venue. What Canton is that, Aargua?

My mom managed to survive the coffee shops and red light district of Amsterdam. Assuming a 2 day jont down to St. Moritz and Como is no more onerous, it depends on what time I get back to Zurich, and how good the Mojitos are in St. Moritz. Any suggestions?

Como ? If there around, you might consider Varese and Bergamo as far nicer alternatives in that region. And if your mom is interested in shopping you might forget about either of the above and opt for Milano. The last train from Milano to Zurich departs already at 20.10 (arr 23.58 Zch; change of train at Arth-Goldau). While your mom goes shopping you explore the good sorts of Grappa in the nice bars in Milano

I'm just answering this one to bump the thread: Adliswil is the first village you see when you leave the city about 5 minutes from the "Sihlcity-End". Depending on where you live in the city, it is probably even faster to get there than Billardino. Most definitely so for the people living around the lake.

Looking forward to try it out.

Re: Social Pool Night

As to not make husbands jealous, I'll be wearing clothes. Sorry girls. I'm a pretty cheap drunk, though. Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker etc.

Anyone fancy a bike ride down there if the weather's clement? It doesn't take too long to ride along the Sihl and saves me having to decide which taxi I'm sharing. Ah scrap that.

The first "village" when leaving from SihlCity is Leimbach which is an inner surburb still and Adliswil by CH-law is a CITY (STADT Adliswil)

I would use the term "outer-suburb" (äusserer Vorort) to describe the town

And, more to the point asked about it is on the S-line 4 (Sihltalbahn) right beside the station Adliswil-Sood, and the schedule is quite acceptable

Sood-Oberleimbach dep 23.36 -- Zch HB arr 23.51
Sood-Oberleimbach dep 23.56 -- Zch HB arr 00.11
Sood-Oberleimbach dep 00.16 -- Zch HB arr 00.31

Re: Social Pool Night

As your week is beginning, you might be thinking (or even daydreaming) about what wonderful things await you on the weekend... Don't forget to add the social pool night on Saturday to something you will "stop in" at. You can even plan to eat a nice fish and chips or a huge burger for dinner (both on the menu and both really good here).

But seriously, because we are trying out a new venue, it is important to have a good turnout (so they continue to be interested in having us)... I hope many of you will come out (and play). Plus, if the weather is anything like it was this past weekend, this event is a perfect alternative to being outside.

Seriously: Adliswil is not a city. Maybe a town, but most definitely not a city...

Bumpty-bump!

Pot Belly's is also a sports bar with Sky TV so with any luck they will put one of the (many) big TVs on to Sky Sports Extra so those interested can catch the Super 15 Rugby game between the Sharks and Bulls. Kickoff at 19:10.

Thanks Treverus. Have been in the hood before, so I was being a little sarcastic. Am looking forward to trying it out.

Thanks Wolli, concur on Bergamo, had a great night there 10 years ago in the main square with a full moon rising over the church. Dare I say I ended up in the fountain?

Am actually driving down, but sticking with Como as goal is to make it to pool that night and spend least amount of time as possible in Italy.

My mom wants to meet my "friends". Can I trust you will all speak highly of me and be on your best behaviour? Would be nice if you let me win a couple as well...
