City/Town: Zürich
Event Type: Dinner
Meeting Point: Taverna Catalana, Zürich

Please note - this event is now FULL (AT 21 PEOPLE)!! PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO BOOK.
Hoi Hoi my fellow diners.
Just a word about the last dining event (D) - although it could be argued that it was not strictly Deutsch . . . I have to say that the food and service were great and that was actually the first venue on our list, that I personally would go back to .

Now then . . . here comes E . . . . . . . WTF? I hear you say . . How do you get the Taverna Catalana from E?
Well my friends, we were planning to go to a well know Egyptian restaurant, but as it is now know that it has since closed . . . . . I decided to make an executive decison - purely on the basis that ESPANA begins with an E!!

So, on that bombshell, I have booked a table for 20 people, starting at 19:30 (that is 19:30 . . not 19:50!!).
The restaurant is called the Taverna Catalana and the address is Glockengasse 8, 8001, Zürich.

www.tavernacatalana.ch

The people there seemed really nice when I went in today (even offered me a free drink).

They have suggested that we can either, order individually starters and mains from the standard menu . . or, they could do a set variety of Tapas for a starter and then everybody order individually for main courses.
I have agreed to confirm the numbers and the dining option, a few days before.
Please note - this event is now FULL!!

Re: The A-Z of dining in Zürich

Next time is F = France

I have two suggestions

Mère Catherine
www.commercio.ch/mere-catherine
open Monday to Sunday 11.30 to 24.00

le Lyonnais
http://www.candriancatering.ch/e/hot.../seite306.html
opening times not on their WEBsite and a bit restrictive, but the cuisine there is superior

AND both Commercio and Candrian are two big companies most unlikely
to get out of business

Hoi Bash

Thanks for organizing a great evening all round once more. Excellent service, nice food, fun crowd, lovely atmosphere but man, was it loud in that place! Had to remind myself we were in Switzerland not Spain a few times too.

"Team Future" made it back safe and sound. That club was totally tripping - oh yeah!

Re: The A-Z of dining in Zürich

Thanks to all those who attended last night - I am undebted to you all for marvellous company - both new and old alike.
Keep it comin` . . .
I liked the fact that we had the whole end of the restaurant as that gave us the chance to socialise even more.
Oh . . . and the pre dinner drinks is becoming an event in itself . . .
Looking forward to seeing you all next month - thanks again for supporting this event.
Bash.

Re: The A-Z of dining in Zürich

Thank, Basher, for a wonderful night.

I don't think the restaurant would have been as loud if it weren't for a certain loud drunk English woman.
