City/Town: Zürich
Event Type: Dinner
Meeting Point: Taverna Catalana, Zürich

Please note - this event is now FULL (AT 21 PEOPLE)!! PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO BOOK.
Hoi Hoi my fellow diners.
Just a word about the last dining event (D) - although it could be argued that it was not strictly Deutsch . . . I have to say that the food and service were great and that was actually the first venue on our list, that I personally would go back to .

Now then . . . here comes E . . . . . . . WTF? I hear you say . . How do you get the Taverna Catalana from E?
Well my friends, we were planning to go to a well know Egyptian restaurant, but as it is now know that it has since closed . . . . . I decided to make an executive decison - purely on the basis that ESPANA begins with an E!!

So, on that bombshell, I have booked a table for 20 people, starting at 19:30 (that is 19:30 . . not 19:50!!).
The restaurant is called the Taverna Catalana and the address is Glockengasse 8, 8001, Zürich.

www.tavernacatalana.ch

The people there seemed really nice when I went in today (even offered me a free drink).

They have suggested that we can either, order individually starters and mains from the standard menu . . or, they could do a set variety of Tapas for a starter and then everybody order individually for main courses.
I have agreed to confirm the numbers and the dining option, a few days before.
Please note - this event is now FULL!!

Thanks Basher! I am happy that I can finally make one of your dinners.
Either dining option is fine for me.

Re: The A-Z of dining in Zürich

I have just corrected the date for this event - it is actually FRIDAY 27th and not Thursday 26th.
Please register again if you had originally done so.
Thanks
Basher.

Re: The A-Z of dining in Zürich

Hi all,
As stated i will arrive this Sunday and i do not know how the first week will be.

But is a almost yes. I am Portuguese for who does not know me.

In Portugal the second option is always better:
or, they could do a set variety of Tapas for a starter and then everybody order individually for main courses.

Starters à la chef (in chef way and mood).

In Switzerland i do not know :d. I hope you choose the best for me.

Re: The A-Z of dining in Zürich

If anyone is interested in meeting up beforehand, I will be at the James Joyce around 6pm on Friday. If it is a nice day I will most probably be outside on the terrace.

Looking forwards to my first A-Z of Zürich dining experience.

Just a quick update on Friday`s dinner.
I am going into the restaurant on Thursday, to confirm the numbers and also to tell them that we are going to have the TAPAS selection as starters.
The main course will be your free choice.
I will ask them to do 2 bills, one for the drink and one for the food.
So all you have to do is to remember the cost of your main course and it should be easy to work out the rest because we will already know the TAPAS cost.

Please confirm,if you are still a `maybe`, before Thursday afternoon. As the restaurant is not huge, I cannot guarantee you a place if you turn up on the night.

As Zwissmiss has already posted, for those interested there is a pre-dinner meet up location – the James Joyce Bar, which is a handy 5 minute walk from the restuarant!! . . excellent.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Excellent plan, will start working on suitable excuses to leave work early . . . . . my flat is lonely and in desperate need of company . . . . I have nasty case of phripmalcoholitis and only known cure is a drink in the city before 6 . . . .

Update for those who are coming to the James Joyce before the dinner but do not know me.
I will be wearing a black pencil skirt, lime green top, lime green wooden necklace and black wedge sandals. I am a voluptuous lady with medium length dark hair.

I can't see me being there at 19.30.... more likely closer to 20.00 (gotta work). So take your time over the tapas and I'll see you all later!
