Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

Jorn is coming back from Lugan, or some where down that way, and is happy to meet us half way if we happen to go over the gotthard pass. Ideas? Or will it be black forest.

Waiting to see if Robert is around, see if he has any good Black forest ideas, or pass roads.

Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

I'll be around.

A classic: Gotthard - Biasca - Lukmanier - Disentis - Oberalp - Andermatt - ZRH
or more passes - Furka - Grimsel - Meiringen - Brünig - Lucerne - ZHR

The whole route is only for early birds, departing around 7 am from ZRH

Black Forest: A shorter version of last year's epic ride to Donauquelle.

Allgäu: I still like to do the trip to Fritz B. Busch's car and bike museum and Donautal (Valley of the Danube).

Alsace/Vosges: the Ballons, Route de Crête, Hohneck, Vieil Armand

Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

Choices, choices.

Not sure if we'd get the early birds, especially if Mike comes from his place, and Emese comes down from Basel. But the rest of those routes sound fun. Will post your selection on the FB page and see what general preference is. Thanks Robert.

Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

For FB, search for EF Swiss Bikers, thats us :-)

Robert, seems the feeling is leaning towards the Blackforest run. Do you have a more detailed routing so I can build it into GPS ??
Will a meeting time for 0900 start be early enough. Meeting at the border crossing again ?

Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

Chris, I'm just back from the Paderborn/Kassel area where I met some buddies. I'll work out a tour that's a bit different and shorter than last year's BF run. Just give me a day.

9 am at the border in Waldshut is probably fine.

30km or so is fine, but I think last year there was a 450km run. That's 2 tanks fills and some :-)

Listen I know your Blade likes a drink but requesting a 30km ride due to fuel consumption is going a bit too far!!!!

Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

Here is the Tomtom and Garmin files for route.

For Tomtom, copy the ride 9 file into your itn directory on your device, then load the itinery once at the meeting point and you're good to go.
The larger of the 2 files in the zip is the Garmin intinery file.

Here is a link to the route in google maps

Any problems, let me know.

Robert, have a look at the google link and just make sure I haven't made any mistakes :-)

Chris

Re: Motorbike ride out No 9 - 5th June

Testrun done. It's 200 km Waldshut - Waldshut.

We'll have coffee at the well known Witches' Pit (Hexenloch). Good opportunity to buy a precision clock and some other BF goodies.

See you on Sunday, Robert
