Final decision on route will be made thursday evening after checking weather forecast.
It will be one of the two options above, either 1000 in Wattswil or 1330 in Eglisau.
Watch this space for more info :-)

Sorry, blunder of mine: it's Wattwil/SG and not Wattswil.

Got a message from Chris to say ride moved to Sunday as the forecast for Saturday is still showing rain.
So meeting Wattwill 10am Sunday 12th.
I will be unable to come as I will be flying to New York (I hope my boss appreciates this!) so have a good time all...

Matt, have you got your bike back? What caused the black smoke?

Yep got it back today Robert. The regulator looks pretty fried. Smoke would have been from that and/or housing from cables that lead from it. I'll attach a picture of it...

Hello there!
So how spirited are these rides anyway?
I'm a new rider (as in: 6-month-old L-plate ) and a new forum member (as in: this is my second post ) and I'd really like to join in and meet some fellow riders!
I can more-or-less hold my own (I think...) unless the speeds go too above the legal limit (eh, this is Switzerland anyway, I wouldn't want to lose my licence before actually getting it).
I don't have a Facebook account (been actively avoiding it, actually...) so would somebody be so kind and post the meeting point (precise address, GPS coordinates, whatever) and maybe also the scheduled route...
Cheers & Thanks!

No need to have an FB-Account. We meet on Sunday morning, June 12, 10 am at the train station of Wattwil in canton St. Gallen.
Sorry, no GPS coordinates, I stick with old-fashined maps.

You're more than welcome to join us, we are not too bad, we like to keep our licences as well :-)
Let us know what you ride and what your leathers are coloured so we know who to look for.
Robert is our GPS, the rest of us just us satnav as a backup, never been needed :-)

Chris | | | | | I ride my forum nickname of course!
I'm sure you can figure it out! Although it's not that common bike around here (eh, one more reason to like it).
I haven't got the courage yet to spend my hard-earned money on a leather suit (swiss prices, you know what I mean...), I just have your regular-commuter-clothing from IXS: black trousers, black+white(ish)+orange(ish) jacket, and a gray Nolan helmet.
There's some work being done on the highway between Zurich and St.Gallen, but I expect to be in Wattwill at around 9:45.
Regards!

Most likely my LeMans (unless it has a problem, then I'll take my SS).
The LeMans is mostly unrecognizable as such, as most of it has mutated over the 26 years I've owned it, however it has a raw aluminum tank that hasn't been polished in at least tean years, and other bits are red. And I'll have a top case, and a black bag on the passenger seat with the camping gear in it.
If I come with the SS, it's mostly un-painted CF, except the tank which is primered beige. Same gear, just no top-case.
As I mentioned to Chris via SMS, best for me is to meet up with you guys at Altstaetten, as I'll be coming from Dornbirn (Austria) (heading there tomorrow afternoon).
Oh, and I have a TI plate.
Tom

good, we know what to look for.
@Tom, we should be a goup of about 6, including my red/black blade, zorans white one and Roberts blue Hornet 900, plus those mentioned before.
You can call me if needed, phone works fine with tomtom now, just may take a few seconds to answer :-) corners and stuff.

Is this Zoran with the white and a bit of silver CBR 1000RR (2007 model) who had a KTM before it ?

Chris | | | | | I figure that if I leave Ebnit by 10-10:30, then I'l be at Altstaetten 11-11:15. Girlfriend's not coming this time, so packing time is greatly reduced!
Tom
P.S. If all you guys are taking CBRs and what not, maybe I should leave the LeMans at home and take my 999R?
