The Taverne Athena is of course not the only Greek restaurant around

Many years ago, when I was new to Switzerland and lived in Basel, I went to the Mandir. Very nice restaurant run by a charming young man. He's probably quite old now.
We going clubbing after? My dancing skills..........people stand and stare, I'm that good.
Basher, I hope to make it. Will post yay or nay tomorrow.

It's just that Basher didn't know Basel restaurants, so next time all you Zurichers need some decent food in a nice city, you'll have more options... | This user would like to thank Carlos R for this useful post: | |

Thanks for that info - you are right . . I don`t know Basel at all and it`s hard finding a restaurant that is suitable . . when, in Zürich, I normally go in and see them first (as we are normally a large group).
I never realised that there were so FEW EFers in Basel . . . we could have saved our money and eaten in Zürich! | Quote: | | | | | Of course I do - Mandir is our "local" take-away...

And glocals is, despite it's attempts at broadening its base, still Geneva-centric.
And Basel; well...

There are loads of us! It's just that ... being so near to France and Germany many people are often away/busy at the weekends out doing stuff, especially when the weather's good.
Our monthly curries, held on a weekday, (coincidentally also held at Mandir recently) sometimes attract over 30 people.
I'm on an "all-day" cycling trip in the Alsace on Saturday (EF event) but if I get back early enough and don't just pig out on food as soon as I enter my kitchen I'll come along.
I don't like many restaurants here in Switzerland at all, but Mandir has always been excellent.
