Hi all

On thursday evening there will be a road bike ride heading out from the Zurich Bucheggplatz tram stop. The intention is for it to be a socially paced ride around some nice countryside, with a few climbs, some fun descents and a stop at the end somewhere for some food and a beer.

The exact route will be determined as we go depending on the abilities of those who attend but should be something in the region of 40-50km or so. The ride is intended for road/racing bikes (i.e. curved handlebars and narrow tyres). However we will all ride together and ensure that the stronger riders respect the "group" pace and that no one is left behind! There are plenty of bail-out options to either cut the route short or head for a train station if anyone doesn't fancy doing the whole route.

All riders should also be familiar with general group cycling safety guidelines and must wear a helmet. This is not a supervised ride and everyone will be participating at their own risk.

  • limamichelle + 1 guest - I do not have a road Bike, (i have a city/hybrid) but ive made it round the lake in 3 hours on my bike. Also i do not have a helmet. can i attend?
  • timpy - My hubby wants to join. If he can leave early from office and reach the bucheggplatz by 1845. He has a road bike. Can some pm me one of the contacts..

Helmets are required for this ride.

A "go/no-go" decision will be made at 4pm based on the rain-radar forecast.

Was a good ride though - I think everyone enjoyed it and it turns out we're not made of sugar after all!
