Finally some solid definition!

I'm ancient!
Me too.

But as the locals say: Auf alten Pfannen lernt man kochen - you learn cooking with old pans.

Re: 'youngsters' drink up!

I'm ancient, josh, um not sure how I'd feel being ancient, but hey ho!

Being young and drinking too much is all about not going into work the next day because you have a hang over, being ancient and drinking too much is being able to drink the youngster under the table, take amusing photos of youngster, post on facetube or some other 'social' deadworking site, on the interweb enabled phone they most certainly will posses and more importantly use the youngsters credit card to pay for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

In London, I'd also say and then pop out for a curry and go home, but.....

Still

Over 30 = ancient.

Over 35 = antediluvian.
Could someone pass me the formaldehyde and bandages.

Re: 'youngsters' drink up!

well isn't everybody in a jolly old mood on this thread!!! nothing wrong with somebody looking for people they're own age to go for a drink with!! Isn't that one of the things this Forum is about? Helping people to meet up and befriend people of their own age group and similar interests! And im sure not everybody on here has worded absolutely everything in their life correctly without offending somebody!! Cut the guy some slack!!!

Haven't you seen what old cats do when the new young cat get introduced to the house? They give them a sharp smack on the noggin to let them know who's in charge, then they ignore them.

I think most people find it amusing that the OP is looking for someone to drink with based on the year they were born rather than common interests or just friendly jovial socialability (word?).
I'm postive (having met a few of the people) that if you were to line them up and guess ages, you'd be off almost all the time. But I'm sure that some even decades older will act younger and some younger will look and act older.

It was just an amusing (perhaps sorta sophomoric) thread posted to a public forum and it took the troll bait, but I think everyone (including the OP) is having a good time with it --regardless of age.

I'm guessing that one's pulling power decreases if it looks like you're sat with your dad.
