Next Sunday 3rd July, I will be hiking up Mt Pilatus again, from the North side.
The hike starts from Kriens and the route is via Mülimäs and then Fränkmüntegg.
I will be travelling down from Zürich by train to Luzern and then onwards to the start at Kriens via the Tram number 1, which leaves from outside Luzern bhf.
The train leaves Zürich at 07:04 - arriving Luzern at 07:49
The tram leaves Luzern at 08:00 - arriving Kriens at 08:10
Descent will be via either the cog railway down to ALPNACHSTAD and then local train back to Luzern ... or back down with the cable car down into Kriens.
I feel this is a more interesting hike than the route up from ALNACHSTAD as it is quieter but does get pretty steep at the top.
TIme to ascend is appx 4-5 hours depending on the pace (its not a race and we will go at a pace to suit everyone - if I want to hammer it, I go on my own
).

Finally - as with all mountain hikes - it will be dependant on the weather, which I will check during the week.

- Can't make this one, but have fun. The weather looks good and you have a nice route. I'd walk down the other side, the views are better out in the open rather than in the train.
