Re: Summerparty with Firefood and Live Music

Still finding out if I can come or not. I'm well into my tea (I take at least one variety with me wheneve I go away for the weekend or on holiday), so I'm most intrigued by P-Train and his tea...

If I do manage to come, it'll be by train with a view to coming back late Sat night or early Sunday morning (train, lift , whatever). Unfortunately no sleeping bag, and I did not bring my hamack back with me from holiday, so will have to get thinking.

Anyone going by train from Zurich?
Yes, nothing fixed, but it either is out of the stations Zch.-HB or Glattbrugg -"Bahnhof Glattbrugg" or Glattbrugg "Bahnhof Opfikon"

Re: Summerparty with Firefood and Live Music

Thanks so much Prof. T for arranging this event. It was really nice to see you, the P-Train guys, all your friends whom I've met before and, of course, my wonderful fellow EFers who were also there.

That BBQ was blinding and so much fun was had by all. Too bad my iPod failed to work at a critical moment, otherwise you'd all have been treated to some dance music from Tynchie Stryder and Example to name a few. After all, variety is the spice of life, right?!!

No tea ceremony this time sadly but so hope you had a good time anyway if you were there.

Re: Summerparty with Firefood and Live Music

That's how the place looked before guests arrived:

- Big pot with Veggie Stew (reminds me of Asterix&Obelix)
- smaller pot for the Gulasch in the night
- two grills

Out of respect for peoples privacy, please send pictures of the event to me by PM and do not post them directly on the thread. We can then jointly agree on those to post. Thanks.

People behaved very well. There was not much littering. Had a few people in the morning helping in cleaning, washing the pots and everything. Thanks everybody for making the event a success and creating a peaceful atmosphere at one of my favorite places in Switzerland.

Aha. Just after crossing the bridge, I did try to get to the river path, but it just never worked out. I know why now . Anyway got there in the end.

I just about made it, but was in anonymous mode... I did speak to the man about his tea (took the train back towards Zurich together), and I did bring some tea with me... Which I had to drink at some time, to give the beer a rest!

Sums it up so well. I really had a great time, loved the place, the music, the fire, the food, the lot. (and P-Train - great stuff, at some point even I could not stop myself from dancing to the rhythm!).

As for the people, cool and friendly too. Btw I was in 'timid Brit' / 'anonymous' mood. I was extremely relaxed, really enjoing the weather/place/vibe that I didn't make the effort to sit with other groups. I was friendly, and did speak to/interact with others, but I wasn't very outgoing that day. Also I had only ever met Prof. T and Wolli before, but the main thing was I was chilled and just enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere.

So thanks to all

Anyway, many thanks, and i'd be

It's great you made it and that you met and chatted with "Mr Tea". Actually, they are all such lovely guys aren't they?

Thanks. Agree the main thing is you had a good and chilled time with everyone in that lovely place, taking in the great vibe et al.

I'm pretty outgoing everyday - perhaps tooooo much so - as those who know me personally would likely attest to. Hehe!

Re: Summerparty with Firefood and Live Music

The T-man (Bass, Baz not sure how it was written) and I had an epic adventure getting home - we sat off for te 23h10 (or whatever it was) in good time, jogged the last minute or so (some how) up the hill, and still managed to miss the train by 30 seconds or so.

The SBB iPhone app gave me another route 20 minutes later and even allowed me to buy my ticket - great. Except the route included a bus first and the bus driver was pretty adament that my ticket was not valid! Didn't boot me off though (must go to to SBB and ask them), and we got our connecting train.

Does anyone remember the fireball juggling / throwing around thing, towards the end of the second P-Train set? That was a great combination of good visuals and good music.

Hi c123,

his nickname is "Pas". The Fire Pois in combination with rythmic music in the night is always great.
