Re: "Proper" Sunday Roast--Gauging Interest

One little bump for this just because it is Monday.

We are leaning toward the first weekend in September, as it could sort of double as a birthday party for many... And as sky mentioned, it is further away from the last Ploughman's of the year, which makes it better for people not in Zurich because then they could maybe attend.

As before, please vote in the poll. Thanks

Have voted in the meat/beef options, but you only get one vote, so those that have done the same, cant vote for a date and vice versa.

That is not true. As you can see, many of us have voted three or more times, where it is relevent... Maybe I don't understand your question/complaint?

And you can just add it here in the comments if you have already submitted your vote and can't change it.

Re: "Proper" Sunday Roast--Gauging Interest

Was the voting subsequently changed to multiple votes then ? I only cast one vote (Beef only), and it says I have already voted. I voted when the thread was first started.

No it wasn't. You could always vote for many things. As I was the first to vote and did it. Then DB and MN and Ouchboy followed, all able to cast multiple votes.

Again, just put the rest of your votes here. You can't change your vote now.

Re: "Proper" Sunday Roast--Gauging Interest

Might be an issue with the voting system , in that you have to cast all your votes at the same time, I.E. You cannot go back and vote for options you did not vote for in the first instance. You get multiple votes, but only one chance to vote.

Last date is fine for me, already voted for Beef.

Yes, that is exactly what I was trying to say. If you voted and "cast" your vote, you can't go back and change it. But when you first vote, you could vote for many options.

And thanks for the input.

Sorry, as I posted before, there will be no reduced price for vegetarians...at least not this time.

But I must say, I don't understand this request in the first place. You have meat, potatoes that are "roasted" in meat-fat, gravy usually also made from meat parts, and veggies... So you want to pay, say 30CHFs for some steamed veggies and a yorkie? I don't get it. If you are asking for a vegetarian "nut roast" or something similar, I can pretty much assure you that it won't happen...

Sorry, just being honest. But again, options on his standard menu (for vegetarians) might happen. I will inform you of that when the actual event is posted.
Sorry I seem to have missed the post where you said no reduced price. To answer your question though, I most likely wouldn´t have minded paying 30chf for veggies and a yorkie. This is Switzerland after all. But my husband isn´t much of a meat eater and I´m vegan so we aren´t interested in this after all.

What is a vegan roast dinner? Is it where you look at a photo of a traditional roast while licking broccoli?

Re: "Proper" Sunday Roast--Gauging Interest

I am desperate for a Big Sunday Roast in a pub, but voted no because of the conditions.

After 4pm is hardly Lunch
I am fed up of pork (why is beef and lamb so expensive here)
CHF60 is way over the £5.99 I am used to paying at my local in Yorkshire.

Valid points all around. I spoke with them about the time and it not "really being lunch", but having them open for us for 12 hours for all-you-can-eat is a little unfair to them as a business, no? And beef is an option, hence why it is in the poll. Lastly, you live in Switzerland now--no questions prices are going to be ridiculously different to England. I don't know how long you have been here, but making the comparison will only make you angry and/or sad and the sooner you accept the fact that things really are *that much more expensive*, the better off you will be. I know once I accepted it, I was much better off...

But again, valid points. And I thank you for your feedback.
