Re: Val-de-Travers walk 'n' munch

Hi guys, that's great idea. I'm not sure if I/we'll be able to make it along though as I've got a lot on at the moment, but I'll let you know!

Will the walk be pushchair friendly or... if I take my munchkin on my back... will I be broken by the end of it?

The walk is going to be tame (so no excuses, Porsch). If it's the one I did, I should think littlun will be fine on your back (although I haven't seen her in a while and I know how fast children grow!). Odile - is it child-friendly?

Pushchair OK up to a point but not all the way - but on your back will be fine- we can take it in turn anyway. It is NOT a long walk, and the last steeper bit can be missed and meet back at restau.
Don't be such a wimp Porsche, lol. Biff are you coming then?

You need to fill up your freezer with KFC from the weekend before then get up really early in the morning to eat it all then you'll be set for the whole day.
A nice walk will help work off all that greasy sorry I mean lovely food and you''l be fine to eat the leftovers from breakfast after dark when you get home

Has your missus left you again? You seem to be organisaing things without her?

Re: Val-de-Travers walk 'n' munch

Porsche - will organise another one later after Eid, just for you.

If anybody needs help with transport, do ask. Station is about 500m above, but quite steep.

Belgianmum, no proper hiking boots requires, but a good pair of trainers.

Yasmina- I used to ski everywhere with my little one on my back - but that was a long time ago! How old is your little one, 24? (Oh no that's Porsche, and I AIN'T carrying him!!).

Biff - would be lovely if you can make it. Bring your toothbrush and stay the night if you wish (Saturday and Sunday). Anybody else who'd like to come from further afield, that would be OK too.

On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th the steam train is running from
St Sulpice to Noiraigue, via Travers and return http://www.vvt.ch/

Maybe you want to work in a train journey into your programme?

(The English website version is missing lots of information)

The valley from St Sulpice up-stream to the source of the river is exceptionally beautiful!

Re: Val-de-Travers walk 'n' munch

Being born and bred in the VdT (Fleurier) I'll give the train a miss personally- but if some want to do this- meet at 11am at Champs du Moulin for BBQ at 12ish- then go for the train from Noiraigue after BBQ when others go for walk, perhaps?

Anybody can turn up on the day as no booking with restau- we will have big BBQ and plenty of wood- and if 1 or 20 turn up- no problem.

Shame you can't come this time. You could stay here no prob.
The woods up here last autumn were just amazing - perhaps my favourite time of the year.
I haven't been to the Fete des Vendanges since .. let me think, about 1969- and I can't remember much sorry (oops). Not sure I'd enjoy it at night these days?

You might not. I've been the lat 2 years and it's sooooooooooo crowded. Hint - even if it's cold nearer the top of town... do NOT put on a big heavy jacket! You'll end up carrying it around all evening...
