Event Type: Coffee/Chat
Meeting Point: All Bar One, Steinenvorstadt 37

Hi all,

In case anyone's wondering where the August meeting went - we planned to take a summer break due to lots of people being on holidays (and also because we need the extra time to read the next book!)

I hope this day suits most of you, but if it doesn't please drop me a msg and if a few people can't make it then I can change it.

We've also run out of books, so please make sure you bring along suggestions - they don't have to be favourites, just books that will prompt interesting discussions!

As always, newcomers welcome, even if you haven't read the book!

The book list:
September: Shantaram by Gregory David Rober
RSVP'd Yes: 5 (5 members and No guests)
  • MissMelbourne
  • Wozel - I have about 90 pages left in the book and am really enjoying it, looking forward to the discussion!
  • bluemoose - Started kind of late, but I'll try to get as far as I can!
  • divap - Looking forward to it!
  • Black Eyed Suzie - Hi. I'm a newbie and haven't read the book, but would like to come along. Looking forward to meeting you all.
RSVP'd Maybe: 1 (1 members and No guests) RSVP'd No: 4
  • rachel10 - Sorry, I'm on holiday until the 19th.
  • Flamelily - Hi, I would love to join your bookclub as I used to be a member of one back in the UK. This time I cannot make it but will try to in future!
  • Piafia - oh no- I'm in Barcelona for work!
  • roxane

Re: Basel Book Club

sorry - I have to give it a miss tonight :-( Have a stinking cold and don't want to either infect or torture you with my splutters. Have fun - and as you're picking books I had been planning to pitch either Austen's Persuasion or Gaskell's Cranford as a classic revisit. Plus I have something called Skippy Dies which I ordered recently and just love the title - no idea if it's a suitable contender though.
