Probably even more so. Most people can't go.

.

Editor Bob is my colleague who is responsible for managing Toytown, EF and our forum in Sweden. We were in the same place at the same time quite recently, actually, in Stockholm, but I don't think there's any photographic evidence. He was in Switzerland a while ago meeting the moderators.
Can be arranged I work from time to time in Stockholm

I'm happy to post about the intentions for EF but since I'll meet at least a few of you next week, I'll wait until after that.
I personally don't understand that.. if you are "keen to talk to as many members as possible" why not take a big step towards clearing up some of the misunderstanding and confusion that has existed recently and post those intentions for the approx. 170 of us on line at this moment , rather than wait a week to speak in person to the four people (!) who are currently confirmed.

I am doing my best to answer specific questions in the other thread at the moment.

But like I said, I don't have a declaration to make about the future of EF beyond what I said above - we intend to run thelocal.ch and EF side by side so that hopefully as many users as possible get as much benefit as possible, and The Local as a company can remain sustainable.

Can't help but chuckle at the "active EF community". Five pages of whining and a few good ideas, but when someone suggests active participation, everyone has an appointment with their albino feline manicurist or is busy getting a PowerPoint presentation of their armadillo dung collection ready at the last minute. I'm attending with open eyes and ears, what's to lose? A no-fee membership on a forum on the internet and your kicks for free.

Wait, couldn't we hold the meeting in the actual center of Switzerland, it's in a marsh west of Luzern and surely a very hospitable place in the early evening in October? Bring a flask.

Let's hope that the Swiss General Election has a bit of a higher turnout than this event, otherwise the power per voter ratio will be a touch one-sided.

Neuchatel is pretty central

1.5 hours from Zurich and Basel and 1.25 hours from Geneva.

Re: Drinks evening (with founder of The Local)

Although I have mostly left the EF due to the exact stupid kind of sh**T found on this thread, I see some civilised people are attending, so why not. Was in Stockholm this past weekend and was surprised to see THE LOCAL advertised on the Arlanda Express.

El Corazon is a nice venue too.

Who cares about Geneva..that place stinks anyways. (Olten is less than 30min away from Bern, Luzern, Basel and Zurich)

Yeah... opinions. On a forum.

They should only let clever people* onto the internet, shouldn't they?

*who live in Zurich. After all, nowhere else in Switzerland matters, does it?

That very concise piece of information now belongs to and will always belong to The Local, and if you repeat it you may get treated like Julian and extradited to Swedenland for a good spanking

Nope. And I'm not clever, either.

Reading some of the arrogant nonsense written by our clever Zurich residents on this thread, however, makes me proud on both counts.

It's like the EF has crawled back to 2007. Way to go EF! Hurrah!
