"Proper" Sunday Roast (Part Two)
Calendar: Social Events
JLF
Forum Veteran

20.11.2011 15:00 to 23:00
*The times shown may change, depending on DST settings
City/Town: Adliswil (Zurich)
Event Type: Dinner
Meeting Point: Pot Belly's, Soodring 21

Come one, come all! The proper Sunday roast is on...AGAIN!

The doors open at 15.00 for us and the buffet will start between 15.30 and 16.00. It will be all-you-can-eat until it is gone or until around 19.00 (whichever comes first). The bar will stay open (with pool included in the cost) until around 23.00.

Menu (there will be, at a minimum, the following):
Two Roast Meats (most likely pork and beef)
Roast Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes
Fresh Steamed Veggies
Yorkshire Puddings
Gravy
Dessert: Apple Pie and Custard
Drinks are *not* included

Price: 49.50CHF if paid in advance by Friday 18.November.2011
59.90CHF if paid at the door

Kids 12 and under: 25CHF---the venue also has a little play area for them

Location:
Pot Belly's
Soodring 21
8134 Adliswil
http://www.potbellys.ch/

It is a short 14 minute ride on the S4 from the Zurich main station (you do need a zone extension). Trains run every 20 minutes off track 1, and Pot Belly's is literally above the Sood-Oberleimbach stop. There is some parking available nearby as well.

You can pay me directly, through an IBAN deposit or through "cash" in the mail, both of which require PM exchanges (easy). Or you can go to Pot Belly's and pay in person (also easy if you live nearby). If you decide the latter, please let them know you are from the EF. And either way, please let me know by indicating your method of paying in YOUR RSVP so that we have separated who pays directly to the restaurant and who pays directly to me... Logistically, you all don't care about this but it matter to us organizers, so please help me out by doing this.

Remember, ALL are welcome!!

Any questions, let me know. Looking forward to it!

Everyone is paid up and ready to go! See you all tomorrow.

And remember, walk-ins welcome, you just pay an extra 10CHFs for the meal. Please also mention you are from the EF if you come tomorrow and aren't on my list.

Thanks!

Re: "Proper" Sunday Roast (Part Two)

J... thank you for organising an excellent bash. The food was very good, the pork and beef were excellent, moist, tender and juicy, brought out in nice amounts so it never sat for long. The veggies were plentiful and hot, and proper mashed tatties... I had to go up 3 times just to make sure it was good, proper research and all that

You can definitely count us in for the next one.

Re: "Proper" Sunday Roast (Part Two)

No, no, no...THANK YOU ALL!! Lets just keep in mind that it wouldn't be possible without all the hungry mouths to feed.

It was a really great group and in my opinion, the food was even better than the last time. Feedback seemed extremely positive, so I am glad everyone had a good time!

Sounds like a Christmas one is being planned...with turkey and ham or turkey and beef...either for 11.Dec or 18.Dec. Feedback for which date is better would be appreciated (if you are interested, of course).

Thanks again everyone for a really lovely night.

We had a lovely time, even my grumpy little son who refused to remove his coat and hat!

The food was really good, it surpassed all our expectations. I may have eaten a little bit too much.

Thanks JLF, it was nice to meet you.

mmm mmmm mmm!! Thank you JLF for making such an effort in organising. Proper sunday roast, Sky Sports with Liverpool beating the Chelsea scum - what a great Sunday.

I had a great time - especially meeting little mimi, the cutest little girl in the world and a kid who actually didnt run away from me. Little nickatbasel, what a charming little gentleman!

The OH was happily playing pool too. Great success and look forward to the next one (though we arent around on the 11th )

You must have missed the amount of "time outs" she had to have

I had a great time too and I second the charming little gentleman comments for nickatbasel Jnr, what a little smasher

The food was fantastic. Thanks JLF for being one of the bestest host on here.

Sorry mimi, it's always the same with Ouchboy, telling people he is the Prof. At least he told you at the end who he really is. I will beat him up big time the next time I see him.
