Advanced notification - we will be hosting a Romandie BBQ up here in the Neuchatel Jura the second week-end in September, Sat the 8th. This event will go ahead irrespective of weather, as we have plenty of space indoors if necessary. This will be on the basis of bring your own meat and drink + a contribution of either snacks, a salad or dessert. For those coming from afar, there is a butcher and a small supermarket nearby (with great brown sugar ..). We do have some money left over from the Christmas raclette party- when I know from BelgianMum excatly how much - will post again to see if drinks can be included for free.

Easy access by rail and bus via Neuchatel and Fleurier. By car 35 mins from Neuchatel, 40 mins from Yverdon, 50 mins from Lausanne Via Ballaigues/Vallorbe).

Those who would like to stay over in the area for the Saturday (and Friday if wanted), I will post a list of local Hotels, B&B's (including lovely gypsy style caravans) a bit later. We plan to go for a walk to our fabulous Creux-du-Van limestone circle, and lunch at the Ferme du Soliat, on Sunday. Could then drop any coming by train at Couvet railway station afterwards.

Great - pm if you need directions by car. Or take the same train and bus as Kamarate and others, she knows the way to here.

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

@ Kamarate, you had better hire a van, as taking all your birthday presents back on the bus might bring new logistical problems.

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

PLEASE NOTE - as the EFfers who were going to spend the night here are no longer coming - and nobody else has shown an interest- the walk to Creux-du-Van on the Sunday will now not be taking place- and will be organised for later on in the autumn.

Would be grateful for 'maybe's' to confirm as Ye or Neh, thanks.

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

Hiya,

I may be interested. Do you have any pictures from any of the past events?

I have a new born I would like to bring, so would like to know if there are any restaurants or hotels near by just to warm up milk and change the baby?

Cheers,

I don't mind where - best ask kingmaker where he wants picking up from.

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

@K-rate.. Ere I had wished to bestow thee with a lagniappe of Joker (with a grand J) cosmetics to adorn thy wondrous visage that you have publicly displayed on this fora.. Unfortunately, the great Ozymandias interfered in my thought process demanding only his visage can have a frown, a wrinkled lip and a sneer of cold command.. So, unfortunately that procurement is now in the back-burner..

@Sapin: Is Neuenburg bahnhof suitable for you?
