Advanced notification - we will be hosting a Romandie BBQ up here in the Neuchatel Jura the second week-end in September, Sat the 8th. This event will go ahead irrespective of weather, as we have plenty of space indoors if necessary. This will be on the basis of bring your own meat and drink + a contribution of either snacks, a salad or dessert. For those coming from afar, there is a butcher and a small supermarket nearby (with great brown sugar ..). We do have some money left over from the Christmas raclette party- when I know from BelgianMum excatly how much - will post again to see if drinks can be included for free.

Easy access by rail and bus via Neuchatel and Fleurier. By car 35 mins from Neuchatel, 40 mins from Yverdon, 50 mins from Lausanne Via Ballaigues/Vallorbe).

Those who would like to stay over in the area for the Saturday (and Friday if wanted), I will post a list of local Hotels, B&B's (including lovely gypsy style caravans) a bit later. We plan to go for a walk to our fabulous Creux-du-Van limestone circle, and lunch at the Ferme du Soliat, on Sunday. Could then drop any coming by train at Couvet railway station afterwards.

I, of course, have all of thse items. It just seems a bit silly to carry them all with me when I onmly need a little of each if Odile has them at her place!
Maybe she wants to explude the possibility someone would cook stone soup in her home!

A HUGE thanks to Odile and H for hosting (yet again!). I had a really lovely afternoon, enjoyed meeting new people and seeing familiar faces again. Great company, delightful children and also, a birthday cake. Who can complain? Hope to see you all again soon!

Thank you Odile and H. for a wonderful day. Here are the 4 photographs I took: I seem to have missed out many people!

Removed photo after someone objected

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

I have been asked to remove some of the photos I posted because a picture is of a little girl playing the keyboard, and I think she is also on a child's bicycle.

As I cannot see her face, and the body position is in no way offensive or suggestive, I am inclined not to remove it.

What do you think?

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

Thanks for our hosts and to the weather... After a week of slimy, grey sky, the weekend is entrenched in perfect spring weather. As Wordsworth would say,

I wandered lonely as a Cloud
That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd
A host of dancing Daffodils;
Along the Lake, beneath the trees,
Ten thousand dancing in the breeze.

For oft when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude,
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the Daffodils.

Yesterday the bees and the flow'rs in the garden certainly made my heart dance with them. Thanks a lot.

I agree. If the parent has asked you to remove it then that doesn't seem unreasonable. Or you could crop the child in question out of the photo.

Re: Romandie EF Barbecue

It was me who asked Sbrinz. I would never put a picture up of children on a forum like this, and if I was in that mind, I would certainly remove it if the people in the photo objected. I didn't want to write thishere because it attracted attention which i didn't want in the first place, this is why i pm'ed you. I'm sorry but I dont like photos of me or my family on the internet and I don't understand why you want to argue to keep it on. Please could a mod remove this. Thank you.

Thank you jrspet. Not very impressed with your attitude Sbrinz. Maybe in future you should ask, it's only polite and secondly, not to ignore when asked. Sorry for the fuss but I feel very strongly about respecting people's rights to privacy.

I have been out all day with friends, and I am sorry not to have replied sooner.

Well I am very surprised with your attitude to privacy. How do you handle public transport, do you all wear masks when you go outside the house?

If the pictures could have been used by a pervert I could understand your objection. I suspect it was the view of your white trousers that caused the fuss.

Your pictures have been removed by the moderator, and I hope you are now happy.

When I go out, I have no issue with people looking at me, I have no issue to talk to people neither, nor my daughter and of course i dont wear a mask youd have seen it yesterday....?! If someone were to be acting strangely, I'd go straight up to them and ask what they're doing. But this is not real life - its the Internet. If I'd seen you taking pics I would have told you not to put them on the Internet, as I ask everyone else. Perhaps me and my daughters father are a bit protective but we fend her right to be free from Facebook and forums until she so chooses. As for me, if I wanted to be known for what I look like, I'd put my picture in my profile. I didn't have any problem at first, but what I didn't understand was why you took it to the thread to bring attention to it and perhaps try to make me look silly... Well im very thankful to the mods who protected my right to anonymity on the web. It's not to start a war but maybe you should be more open to other people's points of view. Bonne soirée.
