Meeting Point: Restaurant Oldtimer, Deutsche Str. 35

Hey fellow EFers! It seems our EF community is growing in the Chur and Ost-Schweiz area.
As no one was available for dinner on Thurs. August 30th, I'd like to invite you all to join me at the Oldtimer Restaurant on Friday September 7th @ 7pm for some wonderful Italian food so we can get to know each other in real life too!
Hope to see you there

  • ToothCentral + 2 guests - I'll bring the kid early and when the wife gets off work she'll join us late, around 7:45 to 8.
  • HeidiVonDerAlm - I'm happy to meet everyone! See you on friday :-)
  • Diego Knyte + 2 guests - Would be cool to meet more US'rs here in Chur. Count me and family in!
  • Puhutes + 2 guests - Coming with my husband and 2 year old son. Can't wait to see some old and new faces :)
  • Amashie + 4 guests - Hi! Just adding 1 more to our count if that's OK? So our group will be 3 adults and 2 children :))

Re: Chur - dinner at Oldtimer restaurant

I had a great time tonight!! It was wonderful to meet you - even though it wasn't always easy talking to everyone! Btw, can anyone tell me the names of the family from Australia? And whether they're on the forum?

Thanks!

Lindsay

I had a nice time at the dinner. It was great to meet everyone! Before this week I didn't even know there was an english forum or that there were so many english speaking people in Chur. Thanks to Amashie for inviting me!
(Wow... That pizza was huge!)

Thanks!
Mark

Re: Chur - dinner at Oldtimer restaurant

Well that's a bit embarrassing. I think there was just so many new people at once, there was no way that I could get everyone's name and remember them all!! Yeah I'd love to keep in touch and please tell your wife that I'd love to get together again soon. It was lovely talking to her.

Many thanks to Puhutes for organizing this event. Nice people, well-behaved kids, generous portions. I even heard someone of the staff say, "The syrup for the kids is free. " And that in Switzerland! I thought I was hearing things.

Sequels needed. Anybody volunteering?

Re: Chur - dinner at Oldtimer restaurant

17 people signed up and 17 people came. That was really impressive! Thank you so much everyone for making our first meeting such a success and I'm really glad everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would like to plan one more meeting before we have to move at the end of the month. I mentioned the Stars and Stripes Sunday brunch for 30francs (all drinks included in that price). It is an amazing deal and the food was really fantastic when we went on my birthday 2 weekends ago. I'll make a new posting and see if anyone is interesting in coming

Sehr Gut Jennifer! Danke vielmals!

The McDonald family had a great time! It was really great meeting each and every one of you! I will gladly attend another Clan Chur gathering :-)
and hope to see: Dave, Daniel, Delina, Jeniffer, HR, Sean, Kim, Adrian (not Axel) :-), Capt. Greybeard, Mark, Lindsey, and Liv. and any others that decide to come out to a gathering of really nice people.

If I had more room, I'd have a potluck... I don't do traditional Thanksgivings... but put on a couple feeds when I was living in Seattle, I'd invite all the orphans. (folks not going home to visit family) we can all think on it :-)

Bis später mitenand
