Are you in for some random fun!? Like to stun the -usually boring- high-class Swiss people roaming the
expensive shopping streets in Zurich?
The 22nd of March is your chance!
At that day people from all over the world will start a pillow fight (
http://www.pillowfightday.com/index.php).
Join Washington DC, Beijing, Vancouver, Stockholm, Budapest, London, LA, NY, Sydney and many others in a
crazy pillow fight against each other!
If you do not want to get involved in this fight but instead want to have a look, please do come! Maybe you
could take pictures or record video for us? Read below for those who want to volunteer.
IN GENERAL ...
We will probably gather somewhere to get to know each other (e.g. at the main station), disperse in small
groups and gather again at a very central location in Zurich. At the designated time the fight starts by the
sound of a whistle. The fight continues for some time until a second whistle sounds, after which we again
vanish into the crowd. There is no restriction on the duration of the fight, but likely will last more than
half an hour.
RULES
In order to somewhat control the fight, a few common rules have to be in place.
- do not announce any information about this fight into the public (but DO invite your friends!); it spoils the
fun and may even prevent it from happening.
- start the fight only after the designated signal (the whistle) to have the largest effect on the public
- stop the fight after the second signal (again for utmost effect, but also to prevent accidents)
- do NOT attack the public or people carrying camera's, keep the fight amongst ourselves!
- use soft pillows without any hard parts (buttons etc); we do not want to hurt anyone.
- bring feathered pillows (they have a great effect

- remove your glasses beforehand!
- everybody is welcome to join and free of charge
- swing your pillows lightly; many people will swing and we are not enemies.
WHERE TO GET A PILLOW?
Expect your pillow to be damaged. That said,
* bring one from home
* buy a cheap one at Ikea or at one of the big shopping malls, such as COOP city.
LOCATION
To be announced at least one day in advance through CS mail. This is for security reasons, to prevent the
media or government from picking up the idea and spoiling the fun. We will gather at a convenient
location in the city center, easily reachable by public transport.
TIME
The fight is to commence at 14:00. This is a flexible
time though. If many of you fail to be there on time,
we will wait.
CONTACT
Please contact the organizers through couchsurfing. We will send you our contact details through the
communique at the -yet undefined- day prior to the fight.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
* We need volunteers to take video shootage! This fight should be captured for memory's sake.

If you would
like to volunteer, please let us know by direct mail. (contact through CS mail)
* Feathery pillows will leave a mess. Since we do not want to litter this beautiful city, you all are kindly
requested to bring a broom, garbage bag and/or cleaning gloves. Together we will have swept the streets clean
in no-time!
LET ALL YOUR FRIENDS KNOW!!
See you there!
