How long have you been here, how good is your German, and do you speak Swiss-German or High?

Re: German Conversation in Zurich...

I've been here for 4 years now... I would say my High-German is intermediate, depends on how many drinks I've had...

Re: German Conversation in Zurich...

I'm of the (possibly mistaken) opinion that my german improves after a few beers...

tomcat, I am not sure how serious you were about the Goodbye Deutschland thing, but I totally agree, luckily I can record it.

Have the week off from my 2nd job so I will make it, woohoo! See you on Tuesday, to all those coming! Nelly

Been here 18 months.
I've been on a two-hour-per-week Inlingua A1 course for 35 weeks.
All I have learned is High German. I've picked up some Züridootsch from my co-workers.

How do we recognise one another?

Re: German Conversation in Zurich...

I'm not very happy about the location but I might drop in around 8 pm if you're still around then. How do I recognise you?

By the way, I'm a native speaker (Swiss German) and can also help with your High German.

See you tomorrow... maybe

I am serious, I normally don't miss Goodbye Deutschland or Unser Neues Leben. I've made the big move twice, ready to make a third jump into hyperspace.

Re: German Conversation in Zurich...

Hi,

I am sorry I did not make it, in the end I was just too tired and had to head back to Basel. I had flown out of London early this morning and the energy levels were flagging.

I hope you all had a good evening

Have fun

Martin
