**Event has been cancelled because of the weather forecast + injured event-organiser Sorry!**

I am leaving the RSVP function open, in case there are peole who would still like to go and meet up.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ballenberg open-air museum is this month’s ‘Railaway Monats-hit’ at the SBB, and I have decided to go on the 18th of May (weather permitting).

If anyone is interested in joining, please let me know as it would be nice to meet some new people who are interested in doing daytrips in CH.

I’ve been told that it is far from boring, and one should allow a whole day in the museum, so the plan is to take the 8:04 train from Zuerich Hbf. If you are not travelling via Zuerich, you’re also welcome to join us in Ballenberg.

Railaway offer: http://ext.sbb.ch/offer/detail/?id=884
RSVP'd Maybe: 2 (2 members and No guests) RSVP'd No: 1
RSVP sign-ups for this event are now closed.

Re: (Railaway) Ballenberg open-air museum

Due to the gorgeous weather we are having today I thought I'd give this event a little bump

I know that I've taken all my visitors during the summer to this place. Great way to get to see the diversity of Switzerland in one small compact way...

Also a fabulous day out for kids. Lots of animals and interactive demonstrations and stuff... (er yeah don't have kids so... but always see loads of them there.)

What route are you planning on travelling? I'd be getting train from Baar or Zug.

Well, describing the forecast as 'terrible' is a bit of an exaggeration imho

I'll check the forecast again on Saturday morning, and decide then whether this 'event' should be cancelled or not.

Still in doubt... it was supposed to be raining here since Wednesday afternoon but I still have not seen 1 drop! I don't trust Swiss forecasts anymore

What do you think?

Re: (Railaway) Ballenberg open-air museum

We are still thinking about going, but I can't find a street address on their website. The "Travel" section says it's 1:50 (i.e. nearly 2 hours) from Basel.

Anyone have a street address so I can map it ?

Also: Do they take the Museum Pass ?

thanks,
(Mr)Wibble

PS> Unless it's really pouring, I think we'd go anyway - raincoats and umbrellas should fix it.

Well, faith has decided that I won't be going to Ballenberg tomorrow... I just seriously sprained some knee ligaments during a game of squash!

As I can not be there myself, and the weather forecast is still on the negative side, I will cancel the event. Of course you people can still decicde to go and meet up at the museum.

I don't think there is a street address, town is simply called Ballenberg and there are 2 entrances: east and west.

Schweizer Museumspass should be accepted.

Have fun!!
