That's a strange statement to make. Are you attempting to paraphrase Eminem (c.2010)?

Other examples of things that are dead:
* Gas powered cars (90 Million sold in 2019)
* Communism (1.5bn living in Communist states)
* In-person transactions using cash (39%)
* Your love life (?)

The street parade is a major event. New Year is rubbish and yet loads of people also go to that. A soon as society is over this massively over-hyped virus that is really about other underlying medical conditions and poor self-care it will be back.

Don't try and make sense of anything omtatsat says with regards to modern culture. As one of the worlds most miserable pensioners, he is so far removed from modern youth that he wouldn't even know where to begin in judging what is relevant and what isn't. He uses this forum to vent his many frustrations in life and is not interested in any meaningful response to his posts or any constructive discussion. Better to let him vent in peace and just ignore his posts.

Re: Zurich street parade

The Street Parade has long been dead, it has become an event like the Züri-Fäscht or something similar. Those who want to take part in the parade are faced with a number of regulations and requirements. This no longer has anything to do with the former technology movement and the values we demand "love, peace, freedom, generosity and tolerance".

You're just a grumpy old man being disturbed by others having fun.

Re: Zurich street parade

I'll have to ask our marketing-lady if they plan one next year.

The problem with it (the Streetparade) always was that while it attracted a lot of people into Zurich, that didn't really translate into a massive financial windfall for the organizers themselves.

They always relied on sponsors.

Same with most of the "Open Air" events.

The shop-owners who have to close their businesses and seal up their entrances so the body-fluids of the "visitors" don't creep in surely won't complain if last year's was indeed the last one.
