16.06.2017
*The times shown may change, depending on DST settings
City/Town: Geneva
Event Type: Dinner
Meeting Point: Parc de Bastions, front main gate.

Let us carry on with our fun monthly Geneva meetups, this time it is this Friday and in a park - let's shoot for a potluck! A pleasant picnic..Bring whatever.

I have waited for a while with the announcement since the weather forecast was promising nothing but heavy rain but it got finally better and we may not only avoid rain but enjoy some nice temps, too.

Say - 7pm, meeting at the main park entrance, a tall white gate right across of the statue, Place Neuve.

As per food - anything that's simple will do. I don't think we are a picky bunch.

Noobs are especially welcome (BabyJane I am staring at you!). Patsy - let us know if the time suits! <3
RSVP'd Yes: 5 (3 members and 2 guests)
  • Anjela + 1 guest - Fingers crossed for some sun!
  • MusicChick + 1 guest - Mellow...hope the weather is good on Fri!
  • Patsycat - Fine by me!! I put maybe, but hopefully shall change it to a definite YES!! Two tram stops from where i live, so no excuse. I bring wine. By the way, the 16th is a week on Friday!!
RSVP'd No: 1

Anjela! Good to see you signing up..

Where is the gang? Hahahah. I think it will be ok. They did announce 30deg heat for the weekend.

I am thinking of making a quick chickpeas/couscous/bellpepper/fresh mint salad. Not sure yet.

Chicken slice; cold chicken in pastry with herb stuffing.
Will try to think of something else as well.

I have a picnic basket somewhere with plates, cutlery, cups and will try to remember that.

Re: "Hello Summer" EF Romandie meet-up

Parc Bastions?! how many summers I spent in that place. Owau... watched musicians playing in this parc for Music Party and many people playing the giant chess.
I lived near by there, in Planpalais, L'Arquebuse street. And near by Geneva Universty too.
I'd reay like to go but I'm a 1000 miles away from there. If I were there, I could bring chicken thighs in a Brazilian way with a salad.
I sware it'll be very nice your meet-up.
Congratulations and a much success for this event!!!!

Yeah, Patsy - Friday the 16th is definitely not this Friday, I think I just can't wait...lol. we meet Friday the 16th. I am in the midst of grading and writing these days, spaced out a little.

Curley - I will post the recipe, it is a lovely salad. (I turned it into a salad, the correct recipe is actually a soup). Yum.

Youmakeme - don't despair, I am sure Brazil has a lot to offer.

Come on you lot (in Geneva anyway), at the moment it's looking like MC, Patsycat and little ol' me will be picnicking alone.

All the more for us of course, but really.....

Case of beer and a baguette?

Is it not black gates at the entrance? Like in front of the opera house? Is that another entrance?

You know - you are correct, white posts and black metal, indeed. The gate at the Place Neuve side.

Case of beer and a baguette is good. Anything will work. Hope it does not rain but we will figure out something if it does..

Hahaha, a great hot day in that event, from the sun of Brazil: .
Since I arrived in Brasilia, I have seen only a couple of rainny days, it's not good 'cause we've a regular water rationing. Soon it will be like a desert.
But if you wanna the sun from here, with much pleasure. In here I prefer the rain.

Surprised that none of the others can even be bothered to say rhey're not coming... what's wrong with you all?

Hey-ho. Looking forward to seeing at least MusicChick and Patsycat tomorrow, and meeting John_H for the first time.

Will just pop over and post on the other thread, see if that rattles a few cages.
