City/Town: Nyon
Event Type: Dinner
Meeting Point: La Croix Verte, 7 Rue Perdtemps

As we've finished Patsycat's blanket we need to give it to her... and just in time for the chilly weather!

At the moment we're hoping to have lunch at the restaurant mentioned above, then maybe wander around the chateau if there's time.
This is assuming we can book a table.... any changes to the venue will be mentioned here and on the corresponding thread.

Hopefully I've set this up so that people can indicate numbers below, and please rsvp as soon as possible so that there's time to book.

A

Adults only please as Patsycat's a little frail and we don't want to overwhelm her too much.
RSVP'd Yes: 7 (4 members and 3 guests)
  • Anjela + 1 guest - Am also bringing Patsycat and her possible +1, but I expect she'd like to RSVP herself!
  • Patsycat + 1 guest - I suppose I have to be there!
  • Belgianmum - I'll sit my plus one in the corner with the other men but I'll have to teach him to read if I want to give him a book.😊 And now he's bailed on us it'll save me the bother.
  • heckenhocker + 1 guest - Bringing my driver and his book to sit in the corner with Miss Marple's driver. I've picked out a book with lots of pictures and small words...he should be able to manage.
RSVP'd No: 3
  • roegner - What a lovely idea! Do take some pictures please (pm)?
  • Mélusine - Argh! Thought I was free, but just noticed I had a prior app. :(
  • hannah'sauntie - Sorry I won't be there, but will be with you in spirit. Give Patsy my love. X
RSVP sign-ups for this event are now closed.

Is it allowed to join even if one hasn't contributed to the blanket?

I'll be there for sure and as long as I don't tell my plus one that there are no fish and chips until after we get there he should be there too.

Of course, you've been following progress and encouraging us all; which counts as a contribution!

PS; Adults only though please, as it is a restaurant and we don't want to overwhelm Patsycat, nor disturb the other diners.

Re: EF Project #5... the Handover!

For any men folk coming there is a brewery about 100m away from the restaurant ... http://www.les-brasseurs.ch/site/en/ the downside is I told we are being brought along as chauffeurs so that the ladies can drink!

Can you keep the kids while you're at it?

I'm ok, my husband doesn't like their beer much so he wouldn't drink any anyway.

There is a reason why the ski school knew better than to give me a kids group after the first season I worked for them ....

Re: EF Project #5... the Handover!

My other half has decided he'd rather go off gallivanting taking photographs with some friends than have lunch with a load of knitters so it'll just be me this time.

I toyed with trying to drag the younger version along but decided against it because:

a. He can't drive yet so would be useless as a chauffeur
b. He costs too much to feed
c. I suspect he'd rather poke his own eyes out with a knitting needle than go out to lunch with his mother and a random selection of crafty women.

Re: EF Project #5... the Handover!

Starting to look like a good turn out!!

One little niggle though - where are the locals? Cmon JohnH, Rachel Moore etc!!

And Neddy, I know you were offered a lift - get outta those Jammies or wear them, and come and meet us!!

MCTAVGE has made his reasons to me. I don't think I would even think about moving the next day after my 50th birthday party, let alone pretend to be OK!!

Musicchick, are you coming?

Anyway, I am sure we shall have a lovely time!! With or without!!

Re: EF Project #5... the Handover!

IH has just noticed that for some reason the small middle seat in our new car isn't fitted with seat-belts! It does have some strange clips that might be for a childseat though... something else to strop about with the dealers.
Long story short, if Patsy's sister comes we don't have room for three passengers (if neddy does want a lift I'll simply catch the train; after all, it's my fault for not checking before offering)!

BM, IH is sulking; now there'll be no-one to discuss toy trains with!

Gata posted earlier asking about the distance of the restaurant from the station (but the post has disappeared for some reason). Anyway, it's maybe five minutes walk... if you go really, really slowly!

Re: EF Project #5... the Handover!

We could strap my sister to the roof!! I should know by the end of next week if she is coming. She is sunning it up in Portugal till then.

Yup, very close to the station. Is someone going to book tables?
