I find the idea of waiting half an hour to play because johnny-come-lately's decide they wanna play at the expense of those that make the fuggin effort to sign-up most unappealing
(In a nutshell.)
If we end up back at the farce of having 25+ turning up - plus the variable of the local kids arriving- I'm going to find an alternative game because today wasn't satisfactory.
There was an effort several months ago to deal with this problem, but the lack of will amongst us to resolve it was frustrating.
I think we should declare those who sign-up get priority to play. You turn up on time, you play. Turn up late and don't expect a game except for the goodwill / exhaustion (!) of those already on the pitch.
It's not possible to have a free-for-all, that's why we have a RSVP function in the first place.
