Went last year. If you're into classic cars it's really good and Morges is a pretty place to visit anyway. If you're going by car avoid the town centre/lakeside which is crammed with classics. There are a lot of old cars. I parked in the CFF/SBB car park last time. Hope the weather holds. I'd be going again this year if I hadn't arranged a trip to Zurich.

This is on again next Saturday 3rd October. They've invited me down to set up my British cheese tent, I won't have much stock left on the day so I'll probably be bringing down some of SwissBobs Spiffing Ales.
They tell me they are expecting 1300 cars and over 20,000 visitors so unless you have a classic motor, best to use public transport (and then you can enjoy the ale!) Home Page

The only timmed laps we did the car was a bit crippled as I blew the exhaust on the journey down there, so it was around 12 minutes, but trying to set a time at the ring is a very dangerous pass time!! Been a few times now and you can tell in the carpark who isn't going to make it round.
Last time we where there we did the ring taxi, that shows you just how bad a driver you really are!! those m5's round the ring are simply amazing, you would not believe a road car can go the fast round a corner without crashing, the look on 911gt3 drivers faces when an m5 driven by a fat old german with 3 passengers is flashing them to get out of the way |

I googled BMW Series 5 - and went - OMG thats the car - and posted...
THEN I googled your MG and I was like WTF! and tried to delete my post!
Anyway - I kinda like the taste of soap!
(starts foaming)
My hubby and I will definately be heading down though - 41mins by train from Neuchatel - Direct.....
We spent the day in Gstaad a couple of weekends ago for the Gstaad Classic...... it was amazing!

Or where is the cut off date for a classic car these days?

However, to me, a 25 year old Austin 1100 would be much less a classic than a 10 year old Aston Martin.
Unfortunately, we haven't had time to get our alcohol license for Bobs beer for tomorrow, but we will have some cheese to try and buy and we are allowed to serve our infamous Whisky rarebits on the day. Hope to see some new faces!

Well engineered and beautifully built. Kind of difficult to find one on this side of the pond.

where about you going to be? what the name of the stool etc?
hmm definition of classic, thats a hard one nowaday, 25 years old was probably a good definition 20 years ago as most cars where very lucky to last 10 years, my first car a 1979 vauxhal chevette was 10 when I got it, and it was a complete wreck, totally rusted through, noadays a 10yr old car would still be almost perfect, certainly our 180 doesn't have any rust at all on it, and all the mechanicals and electrics are 100%.
Now with the prices of 2nd hand cars being so slow (so being written off for the slightest knock), and the various gov's scrappage schemes destroying thousands of perfectly good older cars there are going to be quite a few rare makes/models in the near future.
and of course you have modern classics like the escort cossie, the mg zt260, the mg sv, mk1 mx5's, all tvr's, renault spider etc etc

If you want some let me know and I'll put some to one side for you. I also have mature Wensleydale, strong Lancashire, Sparkenhoe Red Leicester and Colston Basset Stilton - I expect I'll sell out of everything mid afternoon though. I'm heading for the UK straight after the event to stock up again!

Not she what the mrs normally buys, but my son likes a mild cheddar, our local coop sells some swiss cheddar but he wont eat that anymore.
I hope you have some brown sauce and some worcestershire sauce (Lea & Perrins) for your rarebits
