Innerschwyz Pass Motorcycle Tour 30.04.2006

On April 30th I will be starting the 2006 Pass Challenge with the tour based around Schwyz.

The Pass Challenge is an organised competition, held yearly, to see who can rack up the highest number of pass points in the season. Pass points are made up from pass ratings, the higher and twistier the pass, the higher it's rating.

Details of the challenge can be found here:

http://www.motorradland.ch

You can create an account if you want to take part officially.

The tour I'll be doing on 30th April can also be seen on the above site. Go to the site, click Touren on the left, and then use your mouse to highlight the Inner Schwyz tour, click it, and you'll get a map.

If anyone would like to join me - you don't have to participate in the challenge - you will need a motorcycle of at least 250CC and be experienced.

If you do not have a motorcycle in CH but would like to join there are a few good hire shops where you can get, for example, a new FZ600 for Friday to Monday for about CH 250.

It's not a race but there is plenty of chance to open the throttle a bit. Photo opportunities are many. I would guess there will be quite a few stops and it would be a full day out. There is a possibility to do half the tour as we pass close to Schwyz twice.

The logical starting point is Pfäffikon SZ, just at the end of Zürich lake.

Anyone interested can either post a reply, send a private mesage, or email me. In the coming weeks there will be routmaps, joining points for those that don't want to start at Pfäffikon, pit stops, etc.

Just my luck

I will be near Frankfurt on Friday and Saturday, and will be thinking of you and the others doing the Tour while I drive back to Rheintal on Sunday.

Hopefully next time...

I'm sure you know what passes are open, but for others a useful link is:

http://www.swissinfo.org/ger/verkehr...l?siteSect=490

and scroll down a bit.

Looking forward to doing some of the currently closed "big boys" this summer, dressed either in leather or lycra

Re: Innerschwyz Pass Motorcycle Tour 30.04.2006

Good point and clarification needed - we're only doing the inner loop of the Schywz passes. The other part of the usual figure of 8 route can only be ridden from June onwards (last year from mid June).

Still not very clear so.....

Start at Pfäffikon, go to Scwyz via Lachen, Satteleg, and Ibergeregg.

From Schwyz go to Kusnacht via Brunnen, Vitznau, and Weggis.

Then to Zug via Arth, Walchwil.

Then back to Pfäffikon via Oberägeri, Biberbrugg, and Etzlepass.
