I bought day tickets to the semi final games (as I'm betting Canada will make it into top four).
My sister is coming over from Regina to travel and go to the games with me on May 8th in Berne.
Go Canada!

Went to Sweden vs USA last night in Bern, great game but the 49chf standing tickets were a disaster. The section was too full and I was unable to find a position from which I could see all of the ice. Standing section full, lots of space in the stands = great organisation.
As for the design of the standing sections in Bern, shocking instead of a curve in the corners the area is set at 90 degrees. Shocker. I'm glad I've got seating tickets for Zurich on Sunday.

Tomorrow USA <--> Russia! Judging from previous games this would be quite a battle on ice.
Who goes? I surely know about lot's of Russians on their way, any Americans? I wonder how the distribution of fan power would be!
Btw, I just got 2 first class seats, one of which is free.... I had this crazy idea.. going there with an American girl he he... It would be a feeling like after 5 years of marriage!

btw, we, the wild Russian tribe of 5-?20? ppl from Zurich are going to attend this game. anyone can join us before the game starts, if possible, already at Zurich HB, then we can have a lot of "preparations" and fun before and during the game!!

TODAY , Belarus vs Czech.
Suprisingly Belarus have been doing very well!
Does anybody know if you can buy tickets on the door to these games?
Also if anyone is interested to go and watch some ice hockey?

. | | | | | That's because a single seat is 100 CHF and upward . I love hockey, but that's really a rediculous price. In New York I'd pay $30 (40 CHF) to get decent seats at a Rangers (ie: NHL) game. Even when I saw the IIHF Championship in Germany in 2001 tickets were roughly 50 CHF for seats (if I remember correct). I don't even think there was a standing zone in Köln.. I know this is Switzerland, but c'mon, 100CHF for seats?? ...no wonder everyone opts for the 50CHF standing zone
</rant>
Anyway, how about the Swiss missing the 1/4 finals? I kinda feel bad for them, but on the other hand I'm going to enjoy watching Krueger get roasted by the media | Quote: | | | | | Suprisingly Belarus have been doing very well! | | | | | I haven't seen any of their games yet, but Mezin is one of my favorite goalies.

I would feel bad for the Swiss, if they'd done a better job of making the tournament affordable and accessible. Good riddance.

indeed...the tickets are way overpriced, even though the transportation is included.

The Swiss League (LNA) games are also about 100 CHF for a seat (at least in Bern they are). But the IIHF also recognizes the prices are too high here: | Quote: | | | | Officials from both the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the sport's governing body, and the organising committee admit that Switzerland's high prices make hockey an expensive proposition. Latvian fans came to the same conclusion.
"The dealers are asking up to SFr100 ($89) for a place in the standing room," Janis Barkan, the head of the Latvian fan club, told swissinfo.ch. "It's much too expensive. Some of my fellow citizens simply cannot afford it." | | | | | http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/front/Ex...rss=true&ty=st |
